So, did you like the O bold? I smoked about 4 boxes of them in total. The only thing that stopped me from buying more was that I didn't have room at the time in my humidor. Famous had about 6 boxes of them left at the time they were going out of stock and they were $50 each. I bought two, but wish I had cleaned them out. OK, I ALSO didn't have the money to buy more than two, but I prefer the no room in my humidor excuse which was ALSO true.

Yeah, well 1) I wasn't into cigars yet for prime time O Bold and 2) No, I wasn't trying to draw a comparison.

Speaking of Daytonas, I just saw holts running a 15freebie cigar deal if you get a box. 20ish dollars more than my shop, but probably worth it with the freebees.

Anyway, I got a box of the NUB Habano 466 and a box of the Cain F 460 for $170. Not my typical ring gauge preference, but they are damn good smokes.

Anyway, I highly recommend the Cain F, whichever vitola you choose.
My ignore list just grew by one.

    Right!

On a funny (to me) side note. In the box of the F's, there was a card with a chance to win a brand new 2011 Corvette. I think my boxes may have a bit of age on them already.

I'm glad you asked. So, I sent an e-mail to the folks at Olivia telling them how much I loved their, now expired, Olivia O Bold. I asked them if they could recommend something. Here is what he said to me:
    Hi Ray,

Thanks for your enthusiastic support of our product. Unfortunately, we no longer make the O Bold. However, I have a couple recommendations that is comparable. First is the Cain Daytona 646 and second is the Serie O corona (6x46). Both have similar wrappers and blends and are the same size as the O Bold Omni. Hopefully this helps. Thanks again for your support.

    Sincerely,

So, that got me to thinking. First, while the Series O is "similar" to the O Bold, they did not taste nearly the same. The O Bold was stronger. Here is the story:

    http://halfwheel.com/oliva-serie-o-classic-ovation/

While he recommended the Cain Daytona, it is only a medium. The Cain Habano, however, to me looks MUCH more like what the bold might be. So, pending my tasting, I may add the Cain Habano to my list.

Please remember that I am not necessarily about adding new cigars to my list. I am trying to get the stock of things I like up high. To that end, I've added a lot of the following:

    La Aurora 1495
5 Vegas Limitada 2013 (This cigar is really good this year...I know I've said that, but I am really enjoying them.)
Joya de Nicaragua Antaņo Dark Corojo (Never tried before, but it's now IN my humidor.)

I'm probably going to want to add the My Father's and the Undercrown's as well. They both came out while on my little cigar down time. I have samples of both, but I am waiting to try them under good conditions. Sitting out the freezing cold on my porch is NOT a good time to try a new cigar.

I agree. Starting a blog here shall not be taken lightly, and will require hours of diligent updates.

So, how's the restock project going? What have you added that's completely "new" to you? Any hidden gems you've found? Enquiring minds want to know.

Yes indeed! For some reason a certain BTO ditty is playing in my mind at the moment. Ba-Ba-ba-bayyyybe......

In my mind - that is the best part of board membership - the feeling you made someone's day with some rolled up dead leaves! Glad to hear it hit the spot! Merry Christmas to you and yours - and a prosperous new year.

Well, despite my best efforts, someone managed to bomb me. No, I am not going to whine; I'm taking it like a man!

George, you really blew me away! That was the most excellent gift and I can't thank you enough for your generosity! Have a very Merry Christmas!

I was remembering wrong. I wanted to try the Padilla Miami, but I was actually thinking about the Padilla Series 68, which, sadly, I think is gone now. I bought a box (how I remembered was actually by looking at the empty box), and they were ridiculously good for the pittance I paid for them! If I would have done some research, I would have been on top of the situation and "done the right thing".

I would very seriously doubt that these are the original Pepin blended/rolled sticks.
The lanceros from back then were fuckin stellar.

I appreciate your offer. However, I've been away from this board for many years, and I just don't feel right about taking gifts from people just yet. I haven't been a good brother to this board. Let me prove myself again. At that time, you'll get my address when I bomb you!

Thanks for the note and I WILL take you up on that next year, as Maryland has a huge tax on everything.

Our Class 6 store at Ft. Meade put in a new humidor room that is surprisingly VERY nice. They actually carry some pretty good sticks in there, but there selection is still limited. However, no tax, which makes the price right! (For Maryland, at least.) I still bet your prices beat the Class 6's.

The other thing that worries me is that I don't know what happened to their cigars BEFORE they put them in the display room; I don't think the military is all that good at some things and those boxes might be sitting on the docks for a month, for all I know.

Also, whenever you need box quantity Padron, let me know. While there was a recent price increase, my shop still beats the online prices.
