I have been waiting for a good excuse to change from the xikar crystal jars (which have actually served me well) to beads. I bought a small 100 stick pack of beads last night and I will order some more from heartfelt.

Back to my RH dropping... I am back up to 67% now. I also have a new hygrometer and it was 10% off so I calibrated it also. I Just had a temporary freak out there. But I controlled it... I only freaked out internally. In other words I did nothing DRASTIC to my humidor except throw in a couple humi-packs until I got another jar of crystals/beads. It was sure making me a little nervous watching it drop so fast to forty something % though. That is the best advice I can give being the newbie I am about your humidor RH getting off is just don't freak out and take it slow and read everything in the STICKY in the "Accessories" section of the forum.

Beads..... I use 65%. rh swings are to be expected, and from your description the recovery is really pretty good. No worries.
