I just received my sampler from logan37 and I couldn't be more happy. What a great assortment of smokes. You look through the cigar catalogs and websites as a newbie and you really don't know what's good or bad. You just can't beat having someone who's been there to save you a lot of bad smoking experiences and lot of money. Thanks again, Rich, for putting this sampler together for me.

Okay, the story goes like this:

Last week, a friend of mine's daughter had to go to court with her ex-boyfriend because, due to a restraining order, he could not step on to the property to retrieve his items. (He could but apparently he didn't know the right/proper way to do it, like having the police with you.)

So they go to arrange a time for him to come and get his property, which was on a Saturday. The ex-boyfriend says that he can not do it that day as he had a prior obligation. The judge basically states that he is the one who had brought this to court, and that it must be a pretty important obligation. So the judge asked him what obligation was so important that he could not miss it to get his items. Surgery? Funeral?

His answer: he had a fantasy football draft.

When they applied "fantasy" to football, they sure as Hell weren't kidding, were they?!?!?!?! :smiley36:

Just thought I would share that one.

A widowed Jewish lady, still in good shape, was sunbathing on a deserted
beach in Boca Raton, Florida.

She looked up and noticed that a man her age,
also in good shape, had walked up, placed his blanket on the sand near hers
and began reading a book. Smiling, she attempted to strike up a
conversation with him.

"How are you today?"
"Fine, thank you," he responded, and turned back to his book.
"I love the beach. Do you come here often?" she asked.
"First time since my wife passed away 2 years ago," he replied and turned
back to his book.

"I'm sorry to hear that. My husband passed away three years ago and it is
very lonely, she countered.
"Do you live around here?" She asked.
"Yes, I live over in Coral Springs " he answered, and again he resumed
reading.

Trying to find a topic of common interest, she persisted,
"Do you like pussy cats?"
With that, the man dropped his book, came over to her blanket, tore off
her swimsuit and gave her the most passionate lovemaking of her life.
When the cloud of sand began to settle, she gasped and asked the man,
"How did you know that was what I wanted?”

The man replied. "How did you know my name was Katz?"

I would like to get a Cigar Smoker's Club put together on Tiger Woods Online, so that way all of us could hit the links, talk smack, and rub each others noses in really terrible shots.
I can see about setting up the group, and if I refer you, I get $50k in game cash. But, if you'd just like to play, the user name is DaPlatyus, and I'd love to get some guys from this site playing. Sounds fun.

Let me know if you might be interested, and we'll play 18, or 36, or even 72! :smiley4:

I'm still learning what I like and don't like, so for a while my purchases will be small quantities of a variety of cigars, like samplers, so I'm not ready for make a coolerdor or anything too large or elaborate, a 50ish humidor would probably suit me fine for now. I've seen such for sale online for about $50-$75, but I've also seen online articles saying you'd be better off dropping your cigars in the nearest trash can and saving the time and effort of storing them in such a humidor. Is that true, or was it just written by someone who makes expensive humidors for a living? Would I be better off buying the humidifier, hydrometer, and a spanish cedar cigar box and putting them in a tupperware container?

Thanks in advance!

Hi all! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Mark. For years I've loved the smell of a good cigar (actually, ever since I realized the White Owls, Phillies, and El Producto's my father and his friends smoked shouldn't be considered cigars, but burning, rolled-up Army blankets), but never took my courage in both hands to try one until last weekend. I went to JR Cigars in Paramus, NJ (near home) and the salesman helped me pick out three different cigars to try, a Macanudo, a Nat Sherman, and a Romeo y Julieta. I've so far had the first two. The Macanudo didn't thrill me, it really didn't have much taste. I liked the Nat Sherman better, but it had a sort-of spicy taste I didn't care for, a feel like peppermint in my mouth. In the next day or two I'll probably sample the last one.

For a while I'll probably be lurking and learning more than posting.

Hi, my name is Zach and I am new to the world of cigars. I searched the forums but couldn't really find an answer to my question. I just recently purchased a new humidor from Cigars International. It's nothing special, just a small-ish box, Spanish cedar. From my understanding, I am supposed to soak the inside with distilled water? It came with a small round humidifier, and you just peel the back off and stick it to the inside of the lid. Is this all there is to it?
Again, my apologies for my ignorance.
Thanks for your input!!

A professor at the Auburn University was giving a lecture on Paranormal Studies.

To get a feel for his audience, he asks, 'How many people here believe in ghosts?'

About 90 students raise their hands.

Well, that's a good start. Out of those who believe in ghosts, do any of you think you have seen a ghost?'

About 40 students raise their hands.

That's really good. I'm really glad you take this seriously. Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost?'

About 15 students raise their hand.

Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?'

Three students raise their hands.

That's fantastic. Now let me ask you one question further...Have any of you ever made love to a ghost?'

Way in the back, Achmed raises his hand.

The professor takes off his glasses and says 'Son, all the years I've been giving this lecture, no one has ever claimed to have made love to a ghost. You've got to come up here and tell us about your experience.'

The Middle Eastern student replied with a nod and a grin, and began to make his way up to the podium.

When he reached the front of the room, the professor asks, 'So, Achmed, tell us what it's like to have sex with a ghost?'

Achmed replied, "Oh shit, from way back there I thought you said Goats."

I tried searching here and it seems like its been a while since this subject was touched, Air purifiers, who has em' and what would you guys recommend?

I am just putting the finishing touches on my newly sheetrocked living room and my dame is giving me guff regarding my habit of smoking indoors, i cant say I blame her, but alas, I enjoy smoking in my chair in front of the TV. So, I figure an air purifier might be a good compromise. I've been eyeballing the Csonka pro(around 300$)

http://www.csonka.com/beta/popup_con...oaker-pro.html
