  2. what are you listening to today?

With encouragement from this post, I'm gonna just start this, and see if it catches. What's the coolest album you've heard recently? Could be anything, really. I guess I'm looking for this to be a place where we can talk about recent albums we've heard that we've liked or hated. For me,...

Are there any "LOST" fans out there? Just thought I'd ask since the season premiere was last night. Thoughts anyone?

  4. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

I went to see this movie last week. It stars Heath Ledger, Christopher Plummer, Lily Cole, and Tom Waits. A traveling circus makes its way through contemporary London, providing a "show" for any participant of the public willing to take a chance with their form of entertainment. The center of...

  5. Book of Eli

I don't go out to watch movies much but was glad I caught this one. I instantly fell in love with the dark, dead setting from the beginning of this movie. The action is nicely spread out with slow parts in between that helps build suspense. Not to mention a huge twist at the end. Overall one of the...

  6. Avatar

I had the pleasure of catching this film this past Friday in 3D. It was quite possibly one of the best movies I've seen in my short 25 years of life. I'd recommend it to anyone, it's a must see movie! There's a reason James Cameron only makes a film every five years!:smiley20:

  8. Inglourious Basterds

100% Tarantino. If you like his movies, you're gonna love this one. Brad Pitt nailed his performance, but then so did everyone else. A moral lesson? One to make you think? Nope, probably not. But definitely entertainment worth seeing on the big screen.

  9. A Christmas Carol - 3D

Took the wifey to A Christmas Carol - 3D yesterday in the afternoon. I was very impressed. Despite our best efforts to save a few bucks by going to the matinee, I guess because it's a 3D movie. Was just as much as a regular priced movie. I want to say the story follows the Charles Dickens...

  10. GI Joe: Rise of Cobra

I got my grubby little hands on a DVD rip of GI Joe: Rise of Cobra. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to decide from where and the legality of such a copy. That said I will most likely be purchasing a copy when it hits shelves, my sources say November 5th is the likely release date. ...

  11. ever seen eraserhead..?

I have never seen it but reading about it perked my interest - everyone agrees it is very weird - obviously a David Lynch movie is gonna be strange. Is it worth watching..?-

  12. The Hangover

By far the funniest movie I have seen in a long time -- I highly recommend it.

  14. Flashforward

Anyone catch this new drama on ABC? I caught the first two episodes and am hooked -- decent storyline and quality acting thus far.

  15. 9

I saw the movie 9 last night. 9 is an animated movie produced by Tim Burton. I thought it was a good movie. Not great. Really short, just a bit over an hour long. The animation was good and the setting was fascinating. The ending was a bit weak. It definitely could have been a little...

  16. Adventure Land & Shoot Em Up

I watched Shoot Em Up while at our camp Saturday night with my dad. Everyone else went to bed, but he and I stayed up and watched this. It was a pretty good movie, not much to the story, maybe 20 minutes total of it? The rest, none stop action, which was done in an over the top style. Normally...

  17. District 9

This movie has something for everyone. Funny, reflects cutlural diffrences, tear jerker for some, and just down right great. The main character makes the movie. I would recommend everyone to go see and i promise it wont dissapoint.

  18. Julie & Julia

Yeah, I saw it. I paid money to go and see it in a movie theater on a Saturday night. I wanted to. The movie chronologically follows one modern woman's quest for self-worth and another woman's rise to international prominence as a cookbook author. Julie Powell (Amy Adams) plays the modern...

  19. Thumbs up Watchmen

I picked up Watchmen yesterday on Blu-Ray. After spending an hour hooking up my surround sound and getting the stupid Blu-Ray player to actually play in surround sound, I was able to watch it. I saw it in the theater when it came out and the Blu-Ray was the director's cut so it had extra scenes. ...

  20. Thick as Thieves (The Code)

Watched Thick as Thieves (or The Code, I forget which title they used) last night. It was a mediocre movie. I couldn't suspend my disbelief on some of the stuff. Morgan Freeman did a great job, as usual. Andtonio Banderas was forgettable. Radha Mitchell (who played Alexandra) was easy on the...
