General discussion for the pipe smokers amongst us.
(Pipe Aquisition Disorder) With the onset of the cooler months, I find myself reaching for the pipe more often than a cigar, leading to the aforementioned disorder! Heres a couple quite reasonably priced items I picked up from the bay of e :smiley1: Oldenkott Bent Rhodesian
How about a blind pipe tobacco PIF? Send a few pipe tobacco samples numbered and the tobacco only known to the sender. The guy that gets the tobacco does a small review on each. The identities of the tobacco are made known to the board after the reviews. The reviewer then links the samples to this...
Just like the "Today's Smokes" thread! Had some Rattrays Hal O' The Wynd this morning, and I'm enjoying a bowl of Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake right now.
So, I have been smoking cigars for a while and I really enjoy it. I like trying to pick out different flavors from them, I like collecting them, I like sharing them with my friends, I like watching reviews and researching them. Lately though, I have taken a step back, and actually wondered how into...
A place to post photos of your pipe collection here. Might as well show them off. :smiley20:
We have never done a pipe tobacco pass...Would anybody be interested? Post up if interested. I'd like to see 10 people to do it. Gotta keep it to US guys only.
Hi, folks, I am new to this forum. I was a pipe smoker up to 20 years ago and am a birthday-only cigar smoker since then. Yesterday I happed to find a sack that is made of fabric and is containing some my old pipes and a 50-gram plastic bag of Captain Black GOLD. It must be more than 20 years...

I was just surfing around, and found this site: http://www.briarblocks.com/pipes/ I thought it was cool to see how, what, where they get the briar wood for pipes. Will
Well, I placed the order for my first briar today. It's this same pipe just a darker stain ( forgot they take the pipe off the website once you pay for it) It's a birthday gift from my wife. Ascorti-
JiveTurkey hit me up with a nice sampling of C&D Billy Budd. Totally stoked to smoke some of this - thanks so much!!!!!
I read on some boards where guys are talking about "smoking it down to ash". I've never been able to do this and always....I mean always...have some dottle left in the bowl. It's not much, but there is always unburnt tobacco in the bottom of the bowl. Do you experienced guys have dottle...
Ok, so I've been sampling through quite a few tobacco's that came in a trade I did on another board. I'm enjoying the experimentation, but I'm concerned with the way I'm doing it, mainly out of fear of "ghosting" the whopping 2 briar's that I currently own. The pipes and what I'm using them...
I was curious if any of you pipe smokers use brass bowl sccreens in your pipes to protect the bottom of your bowl from burning out? If so how does it help or hinder your smoking experience? Any thoughts? Thanks.
Well, I finally finished my pipe. I tried at first but failed on drilling my pipe and the shank cracked. Well that was a total fail!!! Anyway tried again and this is what I ended up with. The Pipe stem connection is not very good, but adequate. The bowl is made of Juniper and...
I tried some, Light Cavendish by Lane......I likey. Not too sweet, not cloying, excellent aroma and good taste with no bite. One of the locals carries it in bulk, pretty darn inexpensive. Sadly they don't carry many tins, so I'll have to hit the other b/m over the weekend.
Well I never buy used pipes....but I was at a flea-market on Saturday & could not pass up on this deal: 3 old (used) smokers & a 6 rack for.......3$ bucks :smiley1: as you can see in the pics the first one was smoked hard & I think it's done but the other two are OK & good to go :smiley20: ...
I took some time Sunday and looked through the tobacco that I still have from last years crop. I pulled the "bricks" that I made in November out and gave them both a test smoke. Both of the tobaccos smelled very fruity, almost raisin or fig like. They were just about right as far as moisture...
I thought this might interest someone here, it's alot of fun every year and the club has been around since 1948. This is the content of the flyer put out for the contest. I couldn't do anything better than copy and paste. Everyone is welcome, thanks for looking. 63rd Michigan Regional Pipe ...
I'm not affiliated with this guy in any manner...Just a heads up. This guy has nice estate pipes for a reasonable price. The GBDs are a great value. If I had the $$ the GBD Siclaude 753 France would be mine. http://www.bobramstad.com/Pipes/ForSale/index.html
I thought I'd start a thread to house links to information about tobacco and processing it for pipe smoking. I've been doing lots of research and am coming across lots of usefull information. Here's one link...I'll add more over time. ...
I would love to smoke a bowl with my coffee...but, the blends I currently have (nightcap...965....c/d burley flake #4) are simply too strong for me in the morning. What do you guys smoke with your coffee? I'm even thinking of trying, gasp, aromatics.
