    Good Day to You Sir,
Please pardon the intrusion, I am a newbie not only to your forum but to the new found enjoyment of a good smoke. I am currently participating in the newbie trade board. I have also purchased a couple of samplers from online suppliers and also from the only local cigar shop. The shop is 65 miles away and on several occassions, have given me either bad advice or I feel have benn taken advantage of, me being a newcomer to this hobby. I just don't feel comfortable buying from his shop, even though I found visitors to his shop rather informative and friendly.

Here on the forum, I was informed you not only own a cigar shop but this forum.
I am very interested and enjoy maduros. I was wondering if you have a sampler with just one stick of different maduros in size and brands. It seems everyone has some type of sampler but it seems to be a waste to buy a sampler of 20 cigars and only get 4 different brands.
    Thanks for your consideration

I think I went a little overboard on my peppers

by hex1848 on 02-06-2010 at 08:52 AM
I went to the local hardware store last week and got this year’s assortment of peppers for the garden. I think I got a little excited. I like to start my peppers a little bit earlier then the rest of the crop to give them a head start before I put them in the ground in early April. I ended up planting 12 varieties for a total of 48 plants. I’m probably going to end up giving some of them away to friends and family.

Anaheim x 4
Banana x 4
Bell (2 varieties) x 6

Friday Excursion

by hex1848 on 01-24-2010 at 11:12 AM
I took a much needed vacation day on Friday and spent the afternoon at Wakulla Springs State Park and the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. It was a gorgeous day and I got to see quite a bit of wildlife.

Wakulla Springs is just south of Tallahassee and is home of the worlds largest, deepest fresh water springs. They offer an hour long “Jungle Boat” tour that takes you down the river to see the local fauna. Growing up in Tallahassee, I’ve done the tour several times, but this was

Mystery Cigars

by hex1848 on 07-19-2008 at 12:10 PM
Last night as I was leaving for one of the local pubs to sip some scotch, I opened the humidor, reached in and pulled out a neat little cigar (5” x 48 maybe?). It had one of those “curly heads”, that had been cut down to a nub, and a dark brown, semi oily wrapper. No label what so ever, but I said what the heck and took it for the trip.

It smoked beautifully. It had dark grey, heavy ashes; a smooth - almost refreshing smoke; and a perfectly even burn. I have no idea where it came from,
