I keep mine above 60 but high 50's probably wont do any harm.
It isn't a hard wood but you can use the drywall that is used in bathrooms. I doub't that interests you though.

Mold is usually green. If the cigar was well kept and the person who gave it to you had it for a while it is probably bloom.
