    Default Pirate's Gold Natural ~ No. 4

Dru Lee Parsec’s review (of a maduro)

    Smoke: Pirate's Gold Natural ~ No. 4
    Drink: Yuengling Porter
Tunes: Dire Straits ~ Love Over Gold & Communiqué

    Wrapper: Honduran
    Binder: Honduran
    Filler: Honduran
    Draw: Medium Draw
    Burn: Burned good
    Misc: 60min

Pre-light: Awesome label, really. Let’s just get that out of the way. Looks to be nicely constructed. Somewhat pronounced veins & a medium brown colored wrapper. Nice sweet plain tobacco scent, and a slight bitter uneventful prelight taste.

    Light: Easy. Medium draw.

1st 3rd: Some nutty flavors. Slight bitter twinge, but ok. Slight sweet tobacco taste mixed in too. Mild to medium body. Mild to medium flavor. Kind of mellow and unobtrusive cigar.

Ash: Light gray ash. Stacked, but flakey. Holds on for about 1”

2nd 3rd: Slight bitter. Woodsy profile and that sweet tobacco. I guess its mostly the same. There is a mild saltiness to it (Which I guess is expected for pirates)

3rd 3rd: Getting a bit more bitter and hot now. Try a purge… Same flavor profile, except the sweetness is dying off now.

Overall impression: Good yard ‘gar. I have others in mind, but I wouldn’t pass up an occasional promo bundle, if they exist.

Thank you Smoked! For the opportunity to smoke this one!

    Nice review.
I pick them up on Cbid for around $16 a bundle, they are not bad for work/yard cigars. i would not pay more than $1 a stick for them.

Nice review Will. Nice closeup of the ash! Did you use the macro setting and flash/focus on auto on that one? BTW, thanks for the idea of posting pics with the reviews. I wanted to say that because I am kind of "borrowing" your style of review posts. I always enjoy your reviews. I will have to try this when I want a cheap medium mellow smoke. I have been needing some ideas on cheaper cigars because I smoke so much. Then I can rotate the more expensive and cheaper stogies.

Yep. I use the macro setting on the camera for the ash pics. They're usually the hardest ones to get, 'cause with the flash it usually makes a glare, and I end up taking about 4 pics till its right. Oh the humanity!

    Thanks

Great review as always, Will - where do you store the pictures? I didn't see any in your albums so I assume you have them stored somewhere like flickr?

    Nice review, Matey!

The label art may be the best feature of the Pirate's Gold.
