Thread: What is a "B&M"

  1. Default What is a "B&M"

    Stupid question:

What is a B&M? No, I dont mean Black & Mild. I always read stuff with people talking about, when referring to cigars, "I got it at the B&M". What is this? "Brick and Mortar", like "Mom and Pop"? I have no idea. I know this is a noob question and I feel like I should already know the answer.

    No big deal.

B&M = brick and mortar. Commonly referred to as your local shop, or physically going into a cigar store instead of ordering cigars online.

    Searching helps sometimes, too. Sometimes.

    There's a great thread here, http://www.cigarsmokers.com/t7210-newbie-guide.html

It definitely helps now and then when someone gets acronym happy.
Just a stay at home dad (retired until I choose otherwise, thanks Canadian Army medical pension) hanging out and enjoying the good life.

I've found myself scatching my head a few times (especially with BOTL). I've found it easier to find a plausible definition using google or another search engine over the search function on the board, but this string of posts should eliminate that need somewhat (and for as long as it stays near the top).

A B&M is a little piece of Heaven, your office away from the office, your personal cigar valet, the place you spend your money- what your wife knows about and then some. A B&M is your extended living room+smoking lounge=Man Room. A B&M is where you meet new friends, talk with old friends, discuss sports, politics and solve the world's problems from the comfort of a leather chair and in the company of amateur Know-It-Alls.

That is what a B&M is.

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown

    Well said

I visit my B&M twice a week and they have a "game" night on Thursdays where you can play some cards and stay up extra late trying to win your money back
