Thread: CigarBid has the worst costumer service I have ever seen.

  1. #1

    Default CigarBid is great!

SKIP TO THE END FOR RESOLUTION

I kind of overextended my budget at Cigarbid right. So luckily according to there fine print:

All orders are final. If you must cancel an order prior to shipment, the order is handled as a return and you will be assessed a 15% re-stocking fee. Excessive cancellation may result in the revocation of bidding privileges.

I emailed them and agreed to the restocking fee on a couple lots. The first couple of responses I got back was a generic "reply to winning email" response. I finally got one of the reps via the customer service submission form on there site to confirm that my lots had been canceled. Twice, these mother ****ers said my lot had been canceled and would not be shipped. What do I wake up to today, a ****ing UPS tracking code. Stupid ****ing lying son's of bitches.

CI should take the package back, no?

They can't do a simple thing such as cancel a lot order. I don't know if I want to trust them with doing a refund. I'd probably end up with no sticks or money.

UPS can re-route at sender request before delivery.

Your experience is an exception. Calling may work better. You could probably call right now and get a rep.

Bidding without having the money to come through? The bane of eBay too. But anyway when UPS shows up you can refuse the package or just not pick it up if they leave a notice.

So, it's their fault that you bid on items you couldn't pay for? Make sure to never hit me up for the newbie sampler...or anything else for that matter.

I do understand now why the FOGs are wary of doing any business with noobs. Sigh. It would be so much easier if everyone could simply be trusted to do what they commit to.

True, but IIRC, cigarbid has c/c info on file too, so dipshits are stuck when they pay $45 for an Opus or some such nonsense.
Plus, I'd be a bit peeved if I sent out a sampler to a newb who then wanted a return. I don't know where they were stored, if his dog pissed on them, if he used them to pleasure his 45 cats, whatever.

    LMAO.

Absolutely agree. I think he should be stuck with the smokes......any auction I've ever been to in person that's how it works. They got your info already, you bid and win, you bought it.

Funny you should mention that hefty... Can I get an RMA # for some of the sticks from my sampler that arrived yesterday? Rest assured that I don't have any cats, but my llama is very happy today. I would like to return the smaller sticks.

    Thank You Sir.

Well, playing the roll of the level headed old fart, I'd say I can see how this might happen. C-bid sticks you for shipping whether they are sending 5 or 50 cigars. Sometimes you just want to bid on a bunch of lots thinking you'll only get half of them. When you get all of them it can blow your budget.

Personally, if I won 'em I'd pay for 'em. If I really over extended I'd probably handle it the same way... i.e., take my lumps and pay the 15% restocking fee. Sounds like he tried to do that in a stand-up way, but C-bid's customer service fucked up. That's something I think is worth knowing about.

All in all, this isn't a post that I'd get overly excited about... but I've been wrong about people here before.

Level-headed?? You musta filed the point down some.

I dunno - maybe if we all stopped supporting C-bid so goddamn avidly they'd shape up some and stop sacrificing quality for quantity.

You bid, you pay. This isn't a problem with cbid.

I don't know. If you are going to bid in the first place, you should be prepared to buy. It doesn't sound like you were prepared to do that, and now you want to squirrel out of an obligation you've made.

I know. That is why the order shipped.
