Smoke: Cain Habano ~ 5x50
Drink: Weyerbacher Double Simco IPA
Tunes: Offspring ~ Smash; Police ~ Greatest Hits
Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Draw: Medium
Burn: ran fine
Misc: 60 minutes
Pre-light: Medium dark brown wrapper. Firm, seems dense. Light color @ veins. Satin finish on leaf. Sweet tobacco scent. Peppery prelight flavor with cap cut.
Light: Took a little effort, but seems to be going good.
1st 3rd: Oily, Spicy, coating my tongue. Sweet & bitter mix (maybe that’s the IPA)… Medium to full body. Medium flavor. Pretty smooth despite the strong-ish flavors. Floral type flavors going on also. Nice.
Ash: Medium gray. Nice stacking & bubbles on ash. Holds on for 1 ¾”
2nd 3rd: Floral. Oil, spice (pepper) Again, smooth despite the flavor barrage. Sweet tobacco and medium to full body. Pretty strong cigar nicotine wise.
3rd 3rd: Same profile. Kind of more mellow now strangely. Moving into a kind of creamy mix of flavors. Spice is dying down. Really, really mellows out in the last 3rd. Some leather notes kicking in now. Pretty nice unexpected ending.
Overall impression: Nice cigar. Reminds me a lot of the LFD double ligero. I’d put it like this: I’d look for a 5er of these while I look for a box of LFD DLs.
Thank you Rugbysh9 for the chance to try this one!
