Default Arturo Fuente Anejo ~ No. 49

Smoke: Arturo Fuente Anejo ~ No. 49
Drink: Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale; an unnamed rum
    Tunes: Dire Straits ~ None

    Wrapper: Dominican
    Binder: Dominican
    Filler: Dominican
Draw: Medium to slightly tight draw
    Burn: Burned very good
    Misc: 90+min

Pre-light: Cedar wrapped with red band at the foot. Dark brown to medium dark brown wrapper shades, kind of swirled together. Smells like cedar (duh) and that mellow tobacco scent. Sweetness on the prelight flavor.

Light: Took a little effort to get lit. Medium to light tight draw..

1st 3rd: Woodsy, sweet some spice. Full body but very good balance and ultra smooth. Right off the light “wow” There’s a lot going on. Vitolas.com says that the tobacco is only cured for 6-8mo in cognac barrels. You can taste it nonetheless.

Ash: Medium gray, stacks nice and has sparkles in the ash and yellow twinges. Holds on until a voluntary tap at 1 ˝”

2nd 3rd: Kind of makes the tip of my tongue a little numb. Full body, and full flavor. Lots of the above mentioned flavors. Woodsy, sweet and now coffee notes. I can taste some caramel and cocoa in the aftertaste. Excellent.

3rd 3rd: Velvety smooth. Thick and rich. Keeps the flavor faith all the way down. Truly a sad one to see come to an end.

    Overall impression: Awesome, period.

Thank you K7 for including this one in a trade! I suspect it had some time on it, as the label was slightly yellowed.

    Thanks for the review Will.
I have never tried an Anejo. I will put it on my wishlist.
