Thread: How about a blind Pipe Tobacco PIF

  1. Default How about a blind Pipe Tobacco PIF

How about a blind pipe tobacco PIF? Send a few pipe tobacco samples numbered and the tobacco only known to the sender. The guy that gets the tobacco does a small review on each. The identities of the tobacco are made known to the board after the reviews. The reviewer then links the samples to this site so we can compare the reviews...http://www.tobaccoreviews.com/ Then the question is asked...Who wants a Pipe Tobacco Sampler? I'd suggest at least three samples of a couple bowls be sent. I suggest a week turn around on each sampler.

If there is enough interest we'll make it happen.

As nasty hot as it is right now I am not smoking pipes or cigars as much. If we do this in the winter/fall months count me in!

I'm down with it now or later. I think it sounds like a great way to try new blends

It's a cool idea. I'd just wonder if it would be just 5 guys involved.

I like the idea of a mini-review, reveal, and then comparison.

As for me, I wouldn't even be able to participate at this point due to the fact that the only pipe tobacco I have sofar has been samplers from other people.

Right now I'm just keeping some mental notes of stuff I've enjoyed sofar.

I like the sound of trying some new blends, I'm still struggling to find a tobacco I'm really into, but i feel like I dont have anything decent to pass on to another smoker. Maybe when I build up my variety a little id jump in this.

Still like this idea, and I have been piping it alot more lately, but I don't think I have variety enough to offer anything worthy, maybe I can jump in as this one gets going later.

I like this idea, but I am fresh out of interesting tobacco. All I have remaining is a sample or two private label aromatics. I do want to explore this.

How would you structure this pass or mega review?

Kinda like the cigar PIF...Somebody asks the question. Who wants a blind pipe tobacco sampler? Reply "I do". You get sent a blind sampler with numbered baggies with contents known by the sender.... Review each tobacco. It's then revealed by the guy that sent it. Then link the tobacco to this site to compare other reviews. http://www.tobaccoreviews.com/ I'd say a couple bowls of each in each sampler. You review each sample of tobacco in a separate post after smoking to keep things moving. I'd say a week to ten days to review the whole PIF. I'd say three samples minimum to five maximum. Don't feel bad if you can only send three samples. It's all about having fun and learning a bit. If you only have store blends go ahead and send em...You can compare it with the sender.

Should be interesting...I'll be glad to ask the question first.
