Default Our Pizza featured on food network(shamless plug)

The Pizzeria/Restaurant that I work for, Umberto's of New Hyde Park, is going to be featured on "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" on the Food Network. The show airs on Monday, August 30th @ 9PM Eastern. If you have the time you should check it out.

The chef that chose us is Rocco DiSpirito and I believe that our Sicilian Pizza is what will be featured. Granted this location is not my store, but It's my family's place and it's the original location(opened in 1965). However, I DO make one kick ass Sicilian Pie! Thank you for your time.

I believe the propa way to do this is to offer samples?

You can send pizza through the mail....right?

Congrats, that's pretty cool! Now, if I'm ever in the area I'll have to stop in to have a slice or 10. I love me some pizza.

    This is cool.

We just got TV a few months ago. As far as I can tell, we only get the Food network and National Geographic. I'll for sure be on the lookout for this one.

Right now, I'm hooked on Cupcake Wars.

Yeah, Jamie, you read that right. I watch Cupcake Wars AND Project Runway!

Congrats! I've shared smokes with Rocco's brother, Michael. I just have one question? How does long island crust work with long island well water? Do you ship in the good Catskill NYC water?

    Thumbs up

I watched the episode when I got home from work last night(thank you DVR). It was bettet then I expected it to be. The topic was "last meal before I die." It featured all of our pizza not just our sicilian pizza. It was an honor to be mentioned in the show with other great chefs such as Thomas Keller. Plus it was cool to see my cousin and uncle on tv. I hope you guys got a chance to see it and learn a lttle bit more about my life. Hope it made you hungry.

    God dammit. I missed it....

I turned on the Food Network at about 9:40 only to catch a rerun of "The Best Thing I Ever Ate."

I'll have to look for it when they rerun it. Would your cousin and uncle know when it will air again?

Congrats on the show. I am sure that will greatly improve business. Last week when I went to Boise, I went to a restaurant called "Rick's Press Room". That was reviewed by the food network too. "Drive inn's and dives". I have to say , it was excellent!. I hope that I will get an opportunity to try your Sicilian pie some time. Kudos! Roger.
Just another day at the office!
