badwhale: Connecticut shade wrapper. Musty tobacco scent. Split on the wrapper near the head. No biggie. Not much prelight cut taste.

buzz: Front yard for a change, thought about getting out the guitar but was too lazy so I just listened to some Cake.

prelight taste:

abyr: not much to say, maybe kinda grassy?

ashauler: not much.

badwhale: not much here.

buzz: little bit of spice, and hay.

cigarsarge: not much going on... Sweet.

daigz: musky, a little bit of leather.

egq: this is where i struggle - i would say it had a slightly nutty flavor - very pleasant.

eville: musky tobacco, almost stale.

heftysmokes: unimpressive. Immediately turned off. Tastes cheap.

irish79: musty tobacco taste.

mangyrat: slight creamy taste like most mild connecticut wrappers cigars.

mizicke5273: has an earth, grassy flavor. Typical mild cigar flavor i'd say.

mrplatypus: leathery, but not much else. Nothing i could notice on the lips while smacking them.

tdre977: smooth consistent looking wrapper. A little earthy on the pre light draw.

taste (1/3):

abyr: pretty mild, doesn’t taste like much to me.

ashauler: kind of boring. Flat tobacco taste, not much depth.

badwhale: light body. Slight bitter twinge from an oily flavor profile, however it also has a light sweet tobacco flavor for balance. Somewhat creamy, but a basic flavor profile.

buzz: hint of spice, but went away quickly. Then just mild with no flavor, but it is smooth i guess.

cigarsarge: little bit of cedar... Smooth tobacco flavor.

daigz: not bad flavor, mild leather taste.

egq: great billows of smoke, good flavor - nutty and maybe a tad citrusy.

eville: not a lot going on here. Just a faint hint of cocoa that’s mostly covered up by the same almost stale tobacco from the prelight.

heftysmokes: better when lit... Not outstanding. Tastes like the price. Outstanding burn, solid ash, smooth draw right in my wheelhouse. Not a big fan of the flavor... Not strong, but not pleasant either.

irish79: initially the draw was really tight and produced minimal smoke. It had a woodsy/earthy taste. Seems pretty mild.

mangyrat: not much of anything but a slight hint of dry grass.

mizicke5273: has a somewhat even burn going. Not a whole lot of flavor to this smoke, but what is there is smooth. A slight sweet taste developed a little way into the first 3rd, still very bland & mellow for the most part.

mrplatypus: not the best opening to a cigar, as the first couple of retrohales were almost painful- very sharp on the nostrils. Swear i got socked in the nose on one. Very leathery, but a little floral spice developing.

tdre977: nice and light so far, a little sweet. Surprisingly pleasant.

taste (2/3):

abyr: same as 1st 1/3.

ashauler: same as first 1/3.

badwhale: pretty much the same as the 1st 3rd.

buzz: bland, mild, boring, but smooth. Boring though, and bland, very boring. Bland.

cigarsarge: more of the same... Starting to get a bit harsh.

daigz: same as the first third, no change in the taste.

egq: same.

eville: stale tobacco is fading just a bit, cocoa still there. Not much of a change.

heftysmokes: doesn't seem to be improving. One dimensional. This is quickly proving to be a yard cigar, which, based on the price point, shouldn't be surprising.

irish79: the draw has loosened and there's more smoke now. Same flavor profile. The ash fell off at the 2.25 inches.

mangyrat: still no real taste other than a very slight earthy hint.

mizicke5273: pretty much the same as the first 3rd, except the burn is starting to get uneven.

mrplatypus: floral flavor was quick lived. Mellowed back into a leathery earthy taste, but a little creamy. Detecting a hint of pepper. Retrohale doesn't hurt, but a little sharp still.

tdre977: enjoying it, but cant put my finger on the taste i’m getting on the exhale, a nutty earthiness maybe?

taste (3/3):

abyr: the last 1/3 started getting real tar-ey.

ashauler: built up an ashy taste on the finish. No help with a good purge. Reminded me of pencil shavings.

badwhale: pretty much the same as the 2nd & 1st third.

buzz: i fell asleep and dropped the cigar with about 2 inches left. Time for a jdn to wake me back up.

cigarsarge: still not much going on... It's smokeable. Nothing really grabs my attention.

daigz: wow, still the same thing as the first 2 thirds.

egq: towards the end of the last third, the flavor profile changed drastically (which is pretty common), but it was drastic and not all that pleasant.

eville: no change from last third.

heftysmokes: this cigar is doing little to hold my interest. I find myself thinking of a lot of other things going on other than the cigar. Sometimes this is a good thing, probably not when trying to focus on a review.

irish79: the cigar seemed stronger to me now and the draw has loosened even more. But i ended up tossing it with 2" left because my wife's car left her stranded.

mangyrat: it didn't finish any better than it started out virtually no taste at all to me.

mizicke5273: by this point the cigar's flavor has disappeared almost completely. Oh, and the burn has corrected itself though.

mrplatypus: just smoke. Became very acrid very fast. Sometimes it's just best to just stop, put the cigar down, and call it good. Not worth smoking anymore, and actually glad to be done with it. Doesn't get an f, because it isn't the worst third i've ever had, but definitely isn't one i care to remember.

tdre977: some more of the same, but not in a bad way, a little creaminess in the last few puffs, wish that came out a little earlier.

LAST WORDS:

Abyr: Okay as a yard-gar, I might buy them if I was out of yard gars, and they were on sale on C Bid.

ashauler: Not much to keep me interested in this one. Lacking strength and complexity... not bad for the price though. Would serve as a yard-gar if you're into having those around.

badwhale: It has decent flavor for a mild body cigar, and you can't really beat the price. Mild cigars aren't my bag, but there's a time and a place, and this may fill it.

buzz: I know people say it is a good yard-gar, but I just can’t see this being worth the time – I would rather pay $5 more and actually enjoy the cigar.

cigarsarge: I would not smoke this on a regular basis. It would be a good yard gar or a beginner smoke.

Daigz: Not a bad smoke for the price but there wasn't a lot of flavor. No change in the profile, I'd keep these for the backyard or walks with the dog, that's about it.

EGQ: At less than $2.00 a stick, this thing is stellar -- I've paid 10x as much for far lesser smokes. I will be adding a bundle to my humi in the very near future - a real bargain gem.

Eville: If you are looking for a decent yard 'gar, this might be it, depending on the price. I'm not sure how much these were, but I wouldn't pay more than $1.50 each. Not terrible, just nothing special to say about it.

heftysmokes: It is what it is.

Irish79: This is a good value cigar, but it was boring to me. Maybe as a yard gar when pitching horseshoes and when I'm not focused on what I'm smoking. I would rather save a few cents and smoke a FSS Madurito or spend a buck more for a Padron Londres.

Mangyrat: Too mild for my taste, it just didn't have anything that stands out in the way of taste. The construction, appearance and burn was not bad at all.

Mizicke5273: Was not impressed with this smoke at all, the lack of flavor and substance was the defining issue.

MrPlatypus: A nice looking cigar, but looks can be deceiving too. What appeared to be a good solid constructed cigar began to unravel about half way through, which definitely didn't help the experience. The Marlboro Red my neighbor is smoking smells better than this did. It's about what I expected for the price, and I would probably smoke one in a jam, but I would probably go for a box pressed Villiager faster. Yard gar, but to quote the God Module tune I've got on- "it's hurting my brain", as I now have a headache, and I've only had one other headache I can attribute to a cigar (a Nub.) Definitely did not live up to my expectations.

Tdre977: Very nice for the price, I'll probably grab up a bundle of these to throw in the rotation for when I’looking for a lighter smoke.

EDITOR’S NOTE:
The cigars came tightly wrapped in a cellophane bundle, well packaged so with no damage. The burn seemed great for just about everyone, and the draw was decent and may have varied due to cutting styles. Seems like most everyone ranks this stick in the yard-gar family, but as you can see from the varying grades, yard-gars seem to be acceptable to some but not all.
