Beer? At a gas station? Seriously???

If I'm gonna pay $7 for a six pack, I'm going for the good stuff! Gas stations generally do not carry craft beers.

Nope - At a gas station I get gas and (on rare occasions) those 2 for 1 hotdog specials...

...except in Leon Springs, TX - then I go to Rudy's for the BBQ!!!!

Being I haven't bought beer in a looooong time, since I make my own.. Gas stations are still for gas and piss breaks for me.

We're swimming in beer in Texas. I can buy Stone and Dogfish Head at the piece-of-shit Exxon down the street from my apartment. Not necessarily a good thing though...

Nope, for us in Pa, it has to be from a distributor, or, if you are lucky, you will have a grocery store with a pub liscense where you can buy a 12 pack max.

Too much red tape is placed on breweries...we finally got our first one that can brew, distribute, and serve it in the same place...

Yea actually our drug stores have an amazing selection of beer. They even have Rogue from Oregon in Jacksonville, FL and it's for reasonable prices too. Gas stations generally just have the mass market beer but the drug stores and grocery stores is where it's at for beer in Florida!

We're drowning in Abita here. That, and there's both a huge Miller and Budweiser distribution plant here. Imports (read: those beers not brewed IN Louisiana) are taxed heavily.

What's funny is that further south, like in Alexandria (about 2 hours south), the beer selection improves drastically. I've called, e-mailed, complained, everything I can think of, but they simply will not deliver any other beer up here than what we have now. It's cheaper and more cost effective for me to take the short drive to Texas, where my selection is much more diverse.

Other than mega truck stops on the Interstate, Rudy's is the only gas station I know where I'm tempted to sit down and eat!

Shiner at a gas station, you say? Not at any gas station around here. The only beer you can find at gas stations around here is the mass marketed piss water.

But - my local grocery store is the only place I know outside of Texas where I can find Shiner.

Only beer I have ever bought from a gas station was a 6-pack of Yeungling Black and Tan in the Chattanooga area.

So you call 'em "Shitshers" and still buy and smoke them? Oh, and one or two boxes a month is what I would call "regularly".

My first cigar was a King Edward. I was Thirteen. In those days of course they were made with cuban filler.

You folks in the Mid-West never could keep up. We don't call 'em gas stations anymore. They're Mini-Marts and many of them here are craft beer emporiums and you can get a fairly decent cheese steak

    True,

One of my local gas stations has a Moe's italian sandwich shop and a honey dew donut plus a bunch of fancy beers.

    Their cigars suck though.

haha yeah...to stay on topic and "un-derail" the thread...there aren't any gas stations here I'd buy cigars from.

    Liquor stores? Sure...gas stations? Nope.

Is there any other kind of party?

Also, FourLoko is great way to start an all day binge, but if you just have one, the alcohol wears off long before the caffeine does.
