Yeah what a good season. Knew I wasn't going to get a whole lot of closure but very nice. Guess you can't keep a good Targaryen down. Can't wait for next year.

Having read all the books that are out I knew what to expect with each episode but it didn't detract from the shows. Have you read the books yet cinda?

The young fellow who's playing Jeffery does an excellent job. I so hate the little bastard I'd like to take his head off myself...........lol............that's quality acting on top of good directing and writing to make the people watching feel that strongly.

The wife and I were discussing when the next season will start. Considering how few episodes it took to cover the first book (season), we're both hoping they start the next one real soon. She figures they'd have to come out with the next season (book) fairly soon or risk people losing interest. I hope she's right!

All I know is, when they come out on DVD, we'll be buying them all.

I'm really looking forward to the release of the next book which is in early/mid July. My wife's already prepurchased it for our Kindles.

I had a feeling you hadn't read the book(s). No worries, I won't divulge any spoilers.

Your two favorite characters (Arya and Tyrion) are my two favorites as well.......lol

After watching the first season I have a couple of distinct opinions.

A: I'm going to read the books.

B: I don't want to wait until the spring of 2012 for season two, that's stupid.

C: the Blond girl princess whats-her-name looked hot standing there in the ashes with the baby dragon.

I'm glad they decided to stray from the books a little with her and not talk about her age. They allowed her to be an adult girl of most likely 18ish when in the books they specifically state her age as being 13 yrs old. It is an interesting contrast between her and Sansa in the books who is the same age and very naive when Daenerys is so strong towards the end and mature.

Man! I've been avoiding this thread as I haven't had time to catch up on the episode from two weeks ago- finally watched that one and the finale.

I have not yet read any of the books and hadn't before I started the show so I had no grand expectations, or ideas on what would happen. That said- I'm hooked.

I just bought the first book today. My wife's been complaining that I spend to much time on the ipad (then she shouldn't have got me one for fathers day ... and Galaxy of Fire 2 is a cool game) and I should read a book so I picked it up on the way home from school.

Obviously the show has had an effect on sales as the softback cover has the late Mr. Stark on the cover.

Good thing you didn't buy it for the ipad

I looked at it last night and tested the ipad with treasure island, public domain, wasn't bad but I like books.

I agree. I don"t have anything against anyone using an ereader or anything but I like the feel of a book myself.

I always have, and always will, like the feel of a good book in my hands. There's something about the weight and texture that just feels right........

Having said that though, I really like my Kindle. It's thin, light, and a lot easier to haul around than say, the hardback edition of Green Mile or Stranger in a Strange Land. As far as that goes, it's easier to haul than the paperback editions of either book too. It's great for travelling by plane.

We have all the Game of Thrones series on the Kindle and have preordered the next one coming out in July. As soon as it's available, we'll download it and begin reading it.

Did I mention I also like the convenience of the Kindle? I live about 75 miles from the nearest place I'd be able to buy a newly released book in hardback/paperback, but can have the same book in seconds via wireless.

There are other things I like about the Kindle but I won't bother, I'm not trying to change anybody's minds.........but I am going to say, "Don't knock it if you've never tried it cause you just never know, you might come over to the dark side if you did try it"

One last thing. An iPad can't compare to a Kindle in a side-by-side contest. It loses the second you have any sunlight shining on the screen.

Definitely- my wife bought me an ipad for Christmas, which I rarely use for reading as I prefer books also and it's not very easy on the eyes for long periods of reading (to me atleast). I got her a Kindle for Valentine's day and she's hooked- she's finishing probably an extra two books a month and most of the books are cheaper to download than to buy in a book store.

(Just to stay on topic) When I do get the GoT books, they will be regular books for me...I stare at screens all day at work, I don't want to read a book on my ipad when I get home and she hogs the kindle all the time...

    LOL

My wife mentioned that a couple weeks ago and marked it on the calendar.......we've both been waiting as patiently as possible for the next season to start.

We received and read that latest book a while back and I'm considering starting at the begining and going through the whole series again!

They were replaying the whole series Sunday and I rewatched it just to make sure I didn't miss anything.
