    Default Man Cave Beer Fridge

Just got my 1950's Frigidaire Coors Banquet refrigerator back from paint. I did the stripe, chrome top piece, and handle myself but had a friend of my father's paint the fridge body. Runs perfect. The paint is just slightly off the Coors Banquet yellow color but it i damn close.

Man, that is sofa king sweet....except for the coors light in there.

I have two post war fridges in the basement, and yep, they both run like a champ. In fact, when our "modern" fridge upstairs took a shit, guess what got coined "old faithful" while the repair-douche came out two times over the course of about 3 weeks?

I haven't seen one of those type of fridges in ages, and never one looking so good.

Very nice job fixing it up!

I don't know if I'm more jealous of the fridge or the fact that you actually have a man cave.

    Great job on the fridge!

I love your fridge! It takes me back to times past (in a sense, I wasn't around for those times) that were simpler. Not plasmas imbedded in the fridge, flavor infused cigars, dudes getting facials, and Smirnoff ice. A good beer and a hearty smoke...that's the good life.

    Great job!

Very nice job. We're contemplating a 2nd fridge. That doesn't look very energy-efficient, though. Do you have an idea of cost to keep it going? Definite bonus points for the look, though. Who did you get to paint it? I can't imagine the refrigerator painters market is very big.

Thelma, this looks like a strike. Perhaps I'm being harsh.

When mine is running, it consumes approximately 1 kwH a day. I didn't rate our "modern" fridge yet.

My dad knows a guy who does automotive painting and other commercial painting so we had him do it. Not sure how efficient it is but I hear they can be pretty darn decent if the insulation is good. I did open mine up and the insulation does look very good so I am pleased with that. Saw a restored Kelvinator on American Restoration though and loved it so I decided I needed on myself.

Not sure what this means, but perhaps I wasn't clear. I don't have a man cave or a beer fridge and am envious of the OP's.

No offense meant on my part, if that is what the "strike" suggests.

I think, though I might be wrong, a dilligent search of past posts would illuminate the meaning of "strike" in this context.

Hmmmm, see if you can find it and report back here. Might be sumptin' in it for you.

**hidden contest alert: If you see this by quoting my response, please do not leave it in your post for others to see. Instead, see if you can find out the meaning, and pm it to me........first correct reply will get a little sumptin' sumptin' from my cooler relatively soon.****

This is Bullshit we all want in on the secrets too!

I demand beer or beer money to help fill my new fridge as reparations for this slight sir!

Well, heck, I'll see what I can do about one or the other of those. Wait, cigars increase your thirst, therefore leading to more beer consumption and more use of the beer fridge....would that work.
