Thread: Intro post.

    Default Intro post.

    Hello,

    Been lurking for about 2 weeks and I've already learned some great info. Just bought a new "300 capacity" humidor and seasoned it. Currently working on filling it. I have about 25 cigars coming from CBID. I learned about CBID from this site. I have multiple bids out on more cigars from CBID. I'm pretty sure that I'll try out the newbie sampler pack pretty soon.

    I've been smoking cigars for about 17 years but recently increased my intake from about 10/yr to about 2-3/week the last couple of months. I'm definitely hooked now.

    I look forward to visiting this site more often and, hopefully, I can contribute.

    Welcome from Western Canada!

    As a newbie myself (only been smoking cigars since I quit smoking cig's 3 yr's ago) I can tell you the Newbie Samplers are well worth while. In fact, if you include a list of cigars you've tried when arranging one, you'll find it a great introduction to new (to you) cigars!

    I love Tom Mabe's "Geographically Speaking" comment in his infamous telemarketer call...

    Tom Mabe: Give me your whereabouts.

    "Mike": I'm at work.

    Tom Mabe: You're at work?

    "Mike": Yes

    Tom Mabe: You being a smartass?

    "Mike": No, sir.

    Tom Mabe: Let me put it to you this way, Mike. Say I wanted to wanted to mail your ass a letter. What would I have to write on the outside of that envelope to asure that the mailman would deliver it right to your ass. Geographically speaking, Mike, where is work?

    Thanks for the replies.

    Geographically speaking, I'm from Kansas. I left that out earlier.

    I've just finished off the "Untouchable Ten" sampler from cigar.com and also the "90+ rated boutique" sampler from CI. Some of my favorites are:

    Rocky Patel Decade
    Rocky Patel vintage 1992
    Graycliff 1666
    LHC Core
    Cohiba Red Dot....just to name a few.

    I'm still trying to smoke anything I can get my hands on, since in the past I only tried a few well known brands.

    So my humidor is seasoned and all the cigars I bought from CBID have arrived. I have about 70 in there right now. They may be getting aged at least til spring because it's starting to get cold here. My city has recently passed a "no smoking" ordinance which means, smoke outside or don't smoke at all. I don't smoke in my house either. However, the local casino still allows smoking......

    Ya know - if you're not too far from Kansas City there's a great cigar store - Outlaw cigars. Would be worth your while to stop by, unless you are concerned you might max out all of your credit cards...
