Thread: Hobbies

    Default Hobbies

I know there are threads on RC and computer building, but I figured everyone has other hobbies besides cigars. I spend a lot of time hunting/fishing, rebuilding project vehicles, and going to the lake. What do you guys do for hobbies?

@Bill...wow you're crafty. I should give you my grandmother's email and you guys could trade techniques.

I'm currently taking lots of pictures, and I'll be golfing as much as possible this summer.

Snowboarding in the winter, and track riding on my motorcycle in the summer.

Here is a fun video of my crash last summer. I was pretty lucky and can laugh about it now. Wish I had a cigar with me after that one =)

Todays hobby was replacing the crankshaft balancer/pulley on her Mini Cooper S . It was a shitty BMW design and they wanted 400$ for a factory one. I went online and got a billet aftermarket one that weighs less than 1 pound. Now the lil bastard will fly down the road. Gonna save up and get a 15% larger pulley for the supercharger and go eat some Mustang GT's

LOl ,that thing actually has more room then my mustang does. I drive the mustang with the seat all the way back but the mini I have to slide it up 2 notches.

Actually, it is a French (Peugeot) motor IIRC ...

Hmmmm the balancer had BMW wrote on it .

The Mk I Mini One, Cooper and Cooper S used some version of the reliable, Brazilian-built Tritec engine, co-developed by Chrysler & BMW

It's interesting how auto manufacturers use all kinds of parts. I pulled a 1980 CJ7 apart with the stock driveline, it had an abc 4banger and ford tranny!

Oops, got my MINI's confused, sorry. The Peugeot is in the current MINI. Gen 1 had the Chrysler/Rover(owned by BMW) Tritec motor - originally designed for the Neon, but never installed as Daimler-Benz bought Chrysler.

Homebrewing and the Homebrew Club take up a lot of my time.
I also quad ride in the dunes as well as in the cinders.
Oh, of course we have Beer Camp too.
