Default Cuaba ~ Salomones (OPM Nov 09)

Smoke: Cuaba ~ Salomones (OPM Nov 09)
    Drink: Bell’s Porter
    Tunes: n/a
    Date Smoked: 4/7/12

    Wrapper: ISOM
    Binder: ISOM
    Filler: ISOM
    Draw: Good
    Burn: Good
    Misc: n/a

Pre-light: Colorado shade wrapper. Great construction with light veins and a fuzzy cardboard texture wrapper. Has a light sweet tobacco scent. Sweet tangy tobacco on cut prelight taste.

Light: Cedar splint. Easy. Needed a quick touchup.

1st 3rd: Woodsy and oil. Sweet tobacco ring. Background saltwater taffy salt taste. Slight walnut skin bitterness. Medium body. A little ashy on the aftertaste.

Ash: Yellowish gray with charcoal color mottled. Holds on for about 1”

2nd 3rd: Heavy woodsy / nutty like a cashew with the sweet aspect. Sweet tobacco. Tastes nice.

3rd 3rd: Lots of nuances. Woodsy and nutty with background walnut skin & oil. Creamy and mellow and full flavor. Really nice. Background saltwater taffy salt flavor.

Overall impression: A completely satisfying smoke.

    Thank you, you know who.

I have one of those waiting to be snatched from my top shelf and lit on fire. Looking forward to it even more now....if that's even possible.

Did you dry box it before lighting up?

    Great review and pics.

Nice review. Always wondered how these measured up to their 'domestic' counterparts.

    Thanks!

    The reason I ask.

I use 65% Heartfelt Beads. The last ISOM I smoked didn't split like this, but had an extremely difficult pull.

    Even though you're using 65% beads.....give dry-boxing a shot.
