Thread: My intro

    Default My intro

    Hello all,
I am new to cigars, have been smoking them for a few months now, and have really begun to understand why so many are drawn to them. I am also a pipe smoker, and have a well stocked cellar of pipe tobacco. I would post pictures of my humidors, pipes and tobacco, but I know that as this is my first post, if I attach something the post will go into the a waiting area for approval and no reason to cause the admin work on my first day.

Any how, my name is Russ, I just moved to Lakeland, Fl, from NJ where I lived for 40 years. I am newly married with 2 step kids and a 2 year old. I am a glazier by trade, I know how to spell, use an apostrophe, the search function, and my skin is thick, but I brought my own Kleenex for those "sensitive" days.
My favorites at this time are
My Father LB 1922 Petite Robusto
    Oliva V Belicoso
    Macanudo 1968
    Alec Bradley Black Market Robusto
Man O' War Puro Authentico Corona Maduro

Hope all of you have a good week. I will mostly lurk as I am here to learn, and with no real knowledge, anything that I do know, most of you have forgotten.

I don't normally welcome new members because I feel I haven't earned that right yet. That said, IMO...great first post. You've obviously put some effort into feeling the pulse of this community. Glad to have you.

What part of Jersey are you from? I have a lot of family in Toms River, Seaside, and upstate NY.

Yes I have been on enough forums in my time to know to read a few days before deciding to join.

I lived all over NJ, I grew up in Jersey City, moved to Colonia, from there it was... Wall, Brick, Belmar, Forked River, Smithville, back to Colonia, and lastly Toms River. I have family in Brick, and Toms River.

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes.

And right now, I need to go wash my mouth out with dog piss, I just attempted to smoke a Mark Twain CH that my neighbor gave me. Now I dont know much, but I do know that that was the worse stick I have ever smoked. Smelled and tasted like wet mowed grass. I dont mean just little hints. I felt like I stuck my head in the clippings bag on the side of a mower.

    Welcome from western Oregon.

I'm glad you got a feel for the place before joining/posting. Nothing personal, but actions speak louder than words, so I'll believe it when I see it. Look forward to your contributions. Happy smoking.
