    Default Tactical Flashlights

    (not a big honking Maglight)

I was wondering what people thought about these, as I am clueless - but the linked very long article sounds like I should buy one (ignore the pistol part - well, I have to ignore the pistol part ;-)

Maglites work great as a club too!

Oh wait, you said "not a big honkin' maglite." My bad.

Um almost anything with LED bulbs now will blind the shit out of anyone at night, if pointed at them. I have a 4 D cell maglite with LED bulb for ratting.

I bought a P3X that is super bright. Little bigger than I was looking for but it fits in my jacket well and is a lot better than most of the small ones. You can't look at it if I shine it at you.

I've actually been thinking about this for a while now myself. Always been a Maglite 2 cell kinda guy, but wanted something different...smaller. I'm probably sold on this.

Gun is a no-no in urban Canada, or when travelling. A flashlight wouldn't/shouldn't raise any issues. Also, the likelihood of the opponent having a firearm is very low outside the USA. "Confuse and run" sounds good to me.

I am still undecided, though. For just lighting, the phone's LED flash is bright and always handy. A flashlight that fits on a key chain is what I would like. Surefire seems to be 'the' brand, though. I'll see if I can see one locally - spending that much means that I want to 'see' it close up before buying!

On my AR and shotgun http://www.streamlight.com/en-us/pro...t.html?pid=252. On my belt http://www.fenixtactical.com/fenix-tk35.html. The Phenix has a killer strobe. You put it in someones eyes and they will be blinded as long as it is on. Worked for me several times. Highly recommended...

I carry a few extra flashlights in my car just in case.

I lean towards the cheep side on flashlights due to me forgetting to change batteries and then they leak destroying flashlights.
