Exclamation Wounded Warrior Event - Quad State Herf 9 Saturday - 9 August 2014

Hear-ye hear-ye hear-ye, I have locked down the date for this year's Quad State Herf. It will be Saturday, August 9th from 1000 (10am) until dusk (roughly 2000/8pm) and the location is West Point's Recreational Area (Round Pond). It will be a day of relaxing, enjoying great BBQ (prepared by Sean Keever and his crew - Muzzle Brake BBQ aka: Big Guns BBQ) and a number of outdoor events, i.e., volleyball, basketball, horse shoes, fishing, swimming, paddle boating and much more. The recreation area is large enough to comfortably accommodate our 200 guests.

The cost to attend the Quad State Herf is the same it has been for the past years, $50.00 per person (half for food and drink and the other half for the "benefit"). The benefit of the event again this year will be "Wings for Warriors" http://wingsforwarriors.org/ as well as the “Hudson Valley Honor Flight” http://hvhonorflight.com/.

As always, each guest will receive a very nice "goodie bag" and there will be plenty of stuff being raffled off at the event.

Below is a map of the area as well as Round Pond's website:

Ugh. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to make it - I should be in Paris that week.

More prizes for everyone else, though! :-)

    Charlie,

    How much does it cost?

Also, what's the maximum number of people that you can accomodate?

I really want to pencil this in this year. I'm hoping to be somewhere kinda sorta back to normal by then. Can you put me down as a tentative yes (+ the wife) at this time so I don't miss out?

    Thanks!

Well folks, it didn't take long at all. We have reached the head count of 200 guests already. I have started a "STAND-BY" list and those that still want to attend will go on it.
Just as last year, you can always attend but will not get a "Goodie Bag". This is getting like Cigarfest, sell out in no time.

Seems like you guys had a great time. Wish I could of made it, but I had a <2wk old to tend to. Next year.

Consolation: I took about 20 empty Padron boxes to the shop tonight, who gets $2 a pop, and donates to the Wounded Warriors.
