Default La Duena ~ Petite Belicoso #9

Smoke: La Duena ~ Petite Belicoso #9
    Drink: Yuengling Porter
    Tunes: O.M.D.
    Date Smoked: 10-2-13

    Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
    Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf & Nicaraguan
    Filler: Connecticut Broadleaf & Nicaraguan
    Draw: Medium to light draw.
    Burn: Good
    Misc.: Nothing recorded.

Pre-light: Maduro shade wrapper. Pretzel skin texture to wrapper. Rich cedary / chocolaty smell with a sweet tobacco taste on the cut prelight taste.

Light: Easy light using a Bic. Medium to light draw.

1st 3rd: Spicy retrohale. Strong earthy, leathery flavor. Weird. I’m only getting flavor on the retrohale. It seems a more medium body cigar. Slow draw gives me that earthy tone. Different, sofar.

Ash: Good structure with medium gray color, and tiny ash bubbles. Holds on for about 1”

2nd 3rd: Just a lot of earthy notes. A bit of spice. Kinda disappointing in light of the prelight notes. I’m just not getting much flavor out of this.

    3rd 3rd: Just, nothingness…

Overall impression: Should change the name of this line to “La Dullena”

That sucks, I had some Robustos and Lanceros about a year ago that I thought were damn good. Been meaning to pickup a box of the Robustos actually.
    Yay! Cigars!

Maybe I had a dud, but I wasn't motivated to pick another one up at the shop after that... Way to go elite Pete.

I like 'em. I've had a few, and have a few on hand. I'd like to hear your thoughts after you smoke another. Thanks for the review.
