    Default Got some forge time in finally

    Over my vacation I had some time to forge out some rings for my daughter the one on the left is made from cable the other one is made from a billet of damascus it's around a 1000 layers. Got some much needed tongs completed also. Then started on a new grill set. Anybody else do any blacksmithing? I would love to see some other projects.

    I get enough heat from the spousal unit to not want to otherwise be around a forge...

    Actually - there's a Ren Faire nearby and I love to watch the blacksmith's doing their thing. I sometime would like to give that a whirl.

    Very cool work. I heated the steering bar on our 555D backhoe cherry red and beat the fuck out of till it was straight. Blacksmith level -23
