Thread: Humidor not sealing

    Default Humidor not sealing

I have a small desktop humidor that has apparently lost its seal. My rh has steadily droped over the past few days, down to 57%. Re-hydrated my bead tube, and I taped up the seam around the box this morning, and not the rh is starting to climb. Is there any fixing the seal or is it garbage now? I have been thinking about moving to a coolerdor so maybe it's time for that.

Coolidors are excellent options, that's what I use for my bulk storage.
How long has it been since you seasoned your humidor? Sometimes re-seasoning will improve the seal....sometimes not.

I re-seasoned it this week. I wiped it down thoroughly, let it sit for 24 hours, then loaded it back up and added the beads back. It still wouldn't hold. I currently have it taped around the seal, going to get a cooler at lunch.

Cooler drying, beads ordered (1/2 pound). IT'S ON!

It took me about a year or so, but once I got that humidor up and running right - the less I touch it the better it works. Getting to that point is a bear, though...
