Default Can you save dried out cigars?

To make a long story short, I was handed 2 big Cohiba cigars. They're about 6-3/4" long, I'd guess 48-50 ring guage and are cellophane wrapped. They were in a guys garage for about 1-1/2 years left over from his son's wedding. I remember the guy passing these out to his wedding party and family members. They have the "checkered" band that says Habana on it. The old man said the son paid hundreds of $$ for the box.

While I haven't removed them from the plastic, I'm sure they dried out completely. Can these be ressurected to some sembance of "smokeability" (is that even a word)??? I was going to toss them, but figured I should ask the experts first as it would be a shame if I found out later they'd be OK.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

No,thats way too long. Not to mention it was stored in a garage, must taste like carbon monoxide and oil.

Dry cigars can be brought back to smokeable condition very slowly but will take quite a bit of time and although smokeable,it will have lost all its natural oils and thats where the flavors come from.

    Throw them out.
Ya,the search button will have yielded lots of threads, replies, and answers to your exact question thus not needing to create another thread on the subject.

    Thanks for your replies.

I did do a search with "dry" and "dried" and each yeilded a bajillion hits, so that's when I made this post.

I just did a search with "dried out cigars" and it brought me almost where I wanted to be. Guess I'm not used to using multiple search words.

I will send them to cigar heaven after supper by cremating them in the chimnea on the patio. I'll watch them burn while enjoying the first out of the box of the Romeo y Julieta Romeo #1's I brought back from Cuba.
