Ardbeg Lord of the Isles for me tonight. My favorite bottle of scotch!

I had The Glenlivet the other night, and it was pretty good.

    Tonight: Cragganmore 12 ~ excellent

Cragganmore 12 is one of my favorite go-to's. Very light with nice citrusy notes! Good choice!

Bowmore, bruladdich and Cragganmore. I'm sure I spelled at least one wrong, but I have the bottles and I can correct it later. The bowmore is the peatyist of the bunch.

Oban "small batch" is bit of an oxymoron! (Oban is the smallest distillery in Scotland, as I understand it).

But - are you talking about Oban "Little Bay"? Because Little Bay has my curiosity piqued...

I'm a HUGE fan of Dalmore (I keep a bottle of King Alexander around to reward myself on occasion...) and Oban is right in between that and Talisker and Laphroig, both of which I enjoy too (though both are sometimes a bit to "smoky" / "peaty" for me - and I have to be in the right frame of mind to drink them). I do occasionally like to sip a dram of Oban, but I'm thinking the Little Bay might be right in the area I'm looking for.

Yes, I stand corrected. It was the Little Bay. I recommend it.

If you come across Yellow Spot give it a try (Having one now)

It seems to be cooling off a bit, so tonight I'm having some The Dalmore 12 with a Monte #2

Had some McClelland 18 in Vegas. It was very good. Think I may get into the scotch thing pretty soon since I don't already spend enough on cigars, beer, and bourbon.

A finger or so of Lagavulin tonight and some Cragganmore with an Ashton now.

Lagavulin... so delicious. Cragganmore, different, but still delicious. Besides way less peaty, more floral. Goes good with the cigar.

Lagavulin is easily one of my favorites. I had the Double Matured Distiller's Edition recently. It's definitely a nice whisky but I prefer the regular 16yr. Not enough of a difference to justify the couple extra dollars and I think the extra wood (heh) just covers up the smoky peat which is what I love about Lagavulin.

I had some Shieldaig Speyside Single Malt 18Yr yesterday. Wow, I was surprised how good this was considering it's less than $44.00 at your nearest Total Wine and More. Even though I'm generally an Islay drinker, I'll try a Speyside every now and then. This one was complex, very smooth and just as good if not better than a lot of single malts I've paid three figures for.

Looks like you can get it at Trader Joe's in some locations too.

Had a chance to try JW Blue tonight. Holy moly, that was terrific. I have been skeptical of blended whiskys, but this blew my mind. It was great.

I did some camping/hiking in Olympic National Park last week. This was part of the accompaniment.
