Thread: Banquet room is done....

    Default Banquet room is done....

We started building our club exactly one year ago. It's been a long haul but we are finally finishing things up. Our banquet room was carpeted today which just about does it. We tried to have the decor give the feeling of old Havana.

We have to order some more vintage Cuban artwork for the walls but that's no problem. We also ordered a 8.5 foot fake palm tree.

Wow great look! From what I can see it looks like the design focuses a great deal of air quality. I can see the smoke will be going up and moving out of that room. Having the plants in the room also helps with the quality of air. I love the color scheme. You should be very proud.

The primary work was done by myself and one other. Many members pitched in where they could like painting, sanding, sweeping, staining, etc. but the major stuff was done by just the two of us.

We also picked up 4 used Smokemaster C-12 Smoke Eaters for the banquet room. With 80 people in the back they work great. Prior to that the smoke was so dense you couldn't see the back wall.

In the general lounge and game room we have a total of 4 C-12's that handle the smoke with no problem.

Since the law went into effect there are literally hundreds of commercial smoke handlers sitting unused in bars, restaurants, bingo halls, etc and can be picked up for dirt. We have a total of 9 C-12's that we paid a total of 2000.00 for. New they cost over 1800.00 each.

Now installing one of those at home would be a great idea.

Cool !!! Seems like it takes forever don't it? A friend and I built a 2000sf gym over a year ago. Day in and day out. By the end you are so tired of fooling with it, but once it's done it's nice to see what you worked for.

The C-12 units are around 1200cfm each. The formula for calculating room requirements is CFM = L x W x H x Air Changes per Hour / 60 min. Heavy cigar smoke requires about 16-18 air changes per hour.
