    Default The Bar Project

Well, after 2 Cuban box seals, 7 box decals, 2 Dominican box seals, 4 types of glue, 729 bands, and 14 coats of polycrilic, I'm damn near done with my bar project. All that's left is a generous coat of tongue oil and a new trim piece to wrap the exposed front and side.

I want to thank everyone who was able to send me bands for my project. I received them from 7 different states and one province. I never would have been able to finish it without the great guys on cigarsmokers.com!

Sorry about the poor picture quality.....

I'll try to get a better picture when it is completely done.

Very, very, very nice! Looks totally cool and I like how you mixed up bands with the box labels and seals.

What are dimensions of that counter top. I am also collecting bands for a similar project, and what to see how many more I have to collect. I know I have a long way to go though.

    Thanks everybody!

Korean- The bands cover an area that is 14" X 8'. I think without the box decals, I would have needed around 850.

JJM, if you're ever in MT you're welcome to come over...all the guys from this board are more than welcome. Well, except for Chris.

This is pretty awesome. I'm trying to do something like this myself sometime soon. I'm looking to put together almost like a picture frame of bands that can be put up as a decoration. However I'm gonna need to work on getting way more bands first. Great work!!

There's actually no poly on top in those pics. I currently have 20 coats of poly on it, but I have found a product called Enviro Tech to finish it off. I'll post some pics when it's complete.

Hmm... I'm only a board newb but I'm thinking of running up to MT to shoot me a deer this season.... Could also use a place to butcher it..... Mind if I just make myself at home?

Awesome job on the bar. I'm going to start saving my rings just in case I ever feel like scrap booking on a piece of furniture.
