F that. The 20 foot poles I climbed as a cable tech are as high as I'd ever like to go. I give huge credit to those tower climbers. That takes some set of balls to free climb that high up.
There isn't enough money in the world to make that worth it to me.
Three words: No F***ing Way
Did the narrator say “free climbing” the last 100 feet? Whatever his salary is, it is too little.
Holy crap.:smiley3:
I kept forgetting to breath watching this. I can't imagine doing it. Climbing inside was scary enough. That free climbing shit outside is CRAZY!!!!
To change a light bulb? Get the f@^k out of here...

Showed this to my son, and even he started cringing. No chance, no way, not happening, nada.
How about I am not even going to watch the video again! ugh no way!!@@:smiley21:
So Ive climbed and rappelled cell towers. Those are 130-200 feet max. No tying in to anything because, well, of course i shouldn't be up on them, and I don't have the gear to tie in to their stuff.
As scary as hell as climbing up was, the worst part was at the end, going up to untie the rope when we were done rappelling for the night, because climbing down is about 100 times scarier because your body is in the way of your vision that is looking for the next hold and you're looking down the whole time. IOW, going up looked scary as hell in the video, but the feeling going back down would be worse.
Going down could be a lot WORSE :smiley11: splat.
Hell I nearly peed myself watching that! NO WAY, NO NO WAY!!!
I want to know how long it took them to climb.....and why are they are even climbing it? Seriously....isn't that a little too high for humans to be climbing?
However long the video is, is how long they were climbing. It said that they take an elevator up 1600ft.
I think it's too high, but then again, we fly in planes. I'm not all BA Baracus about it, but whenever I'm in a plane anymore, I just get that feeling that it's not natural.

Ahh, missed that part. I watched it at work and did not turn the sound up too loud. Makes alot more sense now.:smiley36:
