New Orleans Cigar Factory Vieux Carre Belicoso 6" X 52
Several board members have mentioned enjoying the New Orleans Cigar Factory Tres Hermanos line, and I would like to introduce the others to their Vieux Carre line. It's not exactly new, but I haven't seen it mentioned on this board often. I have enjoyed them often enough I believe to make an educated evaluation of them.
It has a cameroon wrapper, rather solid in construction; no blemishes or soft spots. The cigar was a bit odd to cut (mainly due to my obscene newbness) and drew a bit on the tight side. The cigar lit rather easily.
Initial flavors were very spicy. This maybe lasted for about 1/4" an inch. The cigar then mellowed out considerably, with tastes of coffee or cocoa, and the smoke was very thick and very creamy. The flavor was absolutely fantastic. I looked forward to each and every puff. Solid white ash was consistently at the end of the cigar.
Down to the last third, I had enough. Maybe it was a bit too sweet? Maybe the draw finally got to me, I don't know. I know they come in smaller sizes, so I might try getting some of those next time. If I had to put a number on them, I would give them a 9 out of 10. They are a bit pricey, but unique.
