Forum Newbie Here
Well, just wanted to say hi to all you cigar lovers / experts out there in forum land. Just recently found the forum and look forward to all the information out there. I have smoked cigars for a few years now, but just recently started enjoying good cigars. I grew up around my grandpa smoking "White Owls" and "King Edward" cigars. I guess that is where I got my first taste of a cigar. I can remember swiping one or two from time to time from his cigar box when I was in junior high. Now I'm 36, starting to look around and taste different cigars.
While visiting a friend in Florida this summer, I got the chance to sample a Monecristo Habana. I'm thinking it may have been a No 2. I must say, it was a cigar. I had never had a really good cigar till then. I don't know where he got them, or how he got them, but he was retired military so I'm guessing that's how he came across them. :smiley4:
So, with that said, hello to all, thanks in advance for any answers I get from you, and enjoy your next cigar!:smiley20:

Welcome from MT...I'd stay away from those #2 Monte's; they are illegal in the US. If you stumble on any more, you should probably send them to me so I can incinerate them!

Welcome to the boards.
You can read reviews, but honestly, the best way you are going to find the cigars you like is to smoke them. Cigar smoking is subjective, much like wine or beer tasting. I've had cigars suggested to me that I love, and others that I won't ever pick up again.
Try some maduros. The Padron thousand series (I think it was the 4000 M) that really turned me on to good tasting cigars.
