I have $100 burning a hole in my wallet and I'm looking for some recommendations. I like medium to full but don't enjoy the peppery sticks. I'm thinking Hemingway and have some 1962 pre-embargo Camchos coming from an earlier purchase. I'm looking for those "I wouldn't unless I won a bunch of cash" smokes. Note that I'm in the US and, though I would love a Habano, Cubans are off the list.

I prefer the Carlos Torano Casa Torano Maduro over the Virtuoso (get both!)
AF Work of Art maduro if you can find one
Don Pepin Series JJ maduro (very unique smoke)
Alot of people on this forum love the Ashton VSG (for the price it didn't much for me, but I think every smoker should at least give it a shot)
Camacho cigars are a little pricey as well and seem to be popular on this forum
I don't buy many expensive smokes so there's alot I haven't tried...
I guess the question is whether you would like a few really nice (read: pricey) cigars, or you just want to boost your collection of smokes. If it were me, I would mix it up a bit, so that if I spend $15-$20 for a stick and hate it, I still have several other options.

These two cigars (in my opinion anyways) are spicy sticks, at least from what I remember of them. Sure, different blends bring out different tastes, but I especially remember that VSG being peppery. I only bring this up because he mentioned he didn't like spicy sticks.Quote:

Those are just some off the top of my head.
I'm not looking to grow my collection as far as volume but rather find some really good celebration smokes. I've had the Virtuoso and definitely enjoyed it. I've also had the Casa Torano but not the maduro. I have a Tatuaje red label that's been resting for a while and I'm definitely looking forward to that! I was looking at the 601 Green Oscuro so I'll have to pull the trigger on that one too. I've never tried any of the Don Pepin line yet but that's definitely on the list. Of course, I'd love to try them all but SWMBO seems to think spending hundreds a month on cigars is frivolous :smiley16:
I enjoy the Cabaiguan Guapos (mild-medium) or the Tatuaje Reserva (J21 or SW.) the Padrons (26 or 64) are always a good choice. The Havana VI you have is a nice cigar. My favorite is the Nobles (robusto.) The Diamond Crown Maximus is probably one of the best cigars that Fuente makes. I also like the San Cristobal Monumento, though several others here are not particularly overwhelmed by them. If you like the Toranos try to get hold of a couple of the Torano Tribute 2004 Pyramids.
Any one of the cigars listed in the posts above are well worth trying
If you like hemmingways I can second the AF king Bs. That is probably one of the best and most underrated fuentes out there. I remember when you could only get them at a few spots. I had to trek to vegas to get them from casafuente. What a trip that was.

I've heard that the Perdomo Edicion de Silvio Cameroon is one of the very best cameroons out there ($20-$25), they also have natural and maduro
Haven't had a Cameroon wrapped yet, but the Maduro is great! You can find them cheaper then $20. I got mine for $12 a stick(double corona, 7x50)Quote:

Logan, Where did you find the Edicion de Silvio? Every store I find online is sold out.
I got mine at a local shop. But I've seen them on cigarbid. Famous-smoke.com has a few single ones for sale, but I think they are like 22 bucks each.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Oliva MB III I had a while back. It's worth the price if you're wanting a high quality smoke...

That's what I've been reading online too. A lot of reviewers suggest the short story is quite comperable. I like the barber pole wrapper but I think I'll skip the BTL.Quote:
