What is the correct duration of a salt test?

Hello! Firstly my apologize for so many questions ...

But again I have a question for the digital hygrometer. I tested its accuracy in the test salt test and the results are totally strange. As there was a longer time, more distinct values show:
6 hour - 68 percent
12 hours 72 percent
24 hour - 73 percent
36 hour - 74 percent
48 hour - also 74 percent

Which of those numbers is correct? And I was looking for an answer anywhere on the Internet and write otherwise - 6 hour is correct, others that the 24 hour is right ... What do you think?

PS: I had a hygrometer in a double package.

I usually do the test "overnight" -- 8 to 12 hours. I'd use the 12 hour measurement of 72% to recalibrate and then re-test.

I think you have your answer. The salt test, IF DONE CORRECTLY will never yield more that just short of 75% RH. Temperature has little effect. Shoot for 75. I'd say you have a good hygro.

The results look normal to me. You can go too short, but you can never go for too long (if the environment is sealed). Given that progression, I'd keep going until 72 hours if you want to be anal. However, it looks like your hygro is working just about perfectly to me.:smiley20:

Usually takes 24-48 hours to finish. Its correct when its stops changing. So in your case your hygrometer is pretty accurate. If its adjustable just dial it up 1%.
