King Catfish's Review
Smoke Perdomo Habano ~ Gordo (6x60:smiley3:)
Drink(s): Yuengling Boc Beer
Tunes: Beck (Guero, Midnight Vultures, Mellow Gold)
Wrapper: Corojo?
Draw: Medium throughout
Burn: Even with small cone throughout, Runs good by itself, no burn but no problems.
Misc: 90 minute smoke, Nose exhale exhibits medium burn.
Pre-light: Beautiful chocolate brown. Very firm. Sweet prelight taste. Speckly satin finish.

Light: Good. Medium draw.
1st 3rd: Sweet woodsy taste. A bit oily. Lots of flavor hitting on the top of the tongue. A touch of spice, but not peppery. Into it a little, a leathery note starts to come out. The Yuengling is a great compliment to this smoke. Mellows out about 3/4" in, but all flavors remain.

Ash: Bubbly stacked light gray tone with yellowish tint. Held on well for 1 1/2"
2nd 3rd: Oily, woodsy. Very smooth cool burn. Medium to full body smoke. Oily taste dominating over the woodsy flavor now.

Disaster Strikes!!!!: I was peeling the label off, and whammo! Big ole' wrapper split:smiley18:

3rd 3rd: Moving on with my injured smoke. Split and all, same flavors. Maybe a little more edgy now, just runnin' on binder (wasn't that a Jackson Brown tune?)

Overall impression: Excellent smoke despite the wrapper mishap. Thanks to mrtr33 for allowing me to enjoy this one.:smiley37: Score: Low 90's

I am SO sorry that wrapper split on you, man.
Glad you enjoyed the smoke. Those are some of my favorites.

Perdomo Habano Maduro
I just got my first fiver of these in the Robusto length and the Maduro wrapper. I let them sit in the humi for a little over a week to stabilize. I was already a fan of the Lot 23 and thought i would try these after receiving some reccomendations. I have to say that i really enjoyed this cigar. In many ways it reminded me of the Lot 23. It had the same underlying hints of sweet spice and coffee that i tasted in the Lot 23 but it added a lot more complexity. At times it would tingle the tounge with spice and pepper, but then would mellow out with a creamy expresso flavor. It continued to go back and forth. I could also detect some other flavors at times but they were hard to pick out. The burn was excellent and the draw was perfect. I had no issues with the wrapper, but i did leave the band on until I had smoked about half of it. This cigar is between the medium and full range and i would give it a solid 9 out of 10.
Nice review. I really like seeing the pics. I am defenitely glad I tried this cigar and will try to age a few in the humi.

Thanks for another great review! Also, thanks for linking my review. That was when I first started smoking and lets just say that was a newb-tacular review and not one of my prouder moments! I'm going to try these again, I really enjoy the lot 23 and the Patriarch.

I Agree, but common
Great review. The wrapper splitting is common on these. Having gone through nearly a box of these, almost 3/4 of them had split on me. At first I thought it was storage or humidity so I went down to the local shop here and bought one and BAM, it split to. Since the cigar has a great taste, great draw, great smoke, I seemed to look past this unfortunate flaw. Althought made in almost the same fashion, my entire box of lot 23 had not split. I actually favour this over the lot 23, even with the defect!
Again great review!
PS I like the pics!
