Benchmade
The few Ashton cigars I've had have been very good. Lately I have begun to look more at the blender than at the Brand itself. I was searching for some new everyday smokes when i came across these.

Since they come from Don Pepin I am assuming they will at least be decent. Has anyone tried this cigar or know anything about it?

correction.......they are made by Jose Pepin Garcia.

Short fill . Decent for 2$ ea but nothing to scream about IMHO.

I was just watching a video review of it and he seems to think that it might be a mixture of scraps from the JJ and San Cristobal. It seems to be a fairly complex smoke. And for being short filler it burns very even and very slow. Speaking of San Cristobal, I have heard it is an excellent smoke but about twice the price as the Benchmade.

I've had some incredible Quintero's - and some "mehh..." So - short filler, "scraps" from other cigars doesn't necessarily mean a great "complex" smoke.
It is a decent $2 cigar - nothing more... :smiley2:
If you're looking for decent "scraps" cigars - check out the Consuegra line. I've had some pretty doggone nice cigars from this line...
