Bye to Sniffles
Wednesday was very difficult! We had to put our dog named Sniffles down. He was suffering from various comlications following a tooth extraction. He was about 18 and we had him for 12 years. He was a pom/corgi mix. We will miss him very much. If you want to see him you can find him under the "show us your pet" thread. What a great little dog he was! Roger.

Yeah it sucks to loose a dog. They become like family.

I lost my APBT Jake on August 11. I had to put him down due to heart trouble. He was 13. It sucks to loose a dog.

Very sorry for your loss. Putting down a pet is one of the worst things in the world. But congratulations on the 12 years! It sounds like Sniffles had a great life with people who really cared for him. He must have provided you with some great memories. Just keep them in your mind.

I agree with Shelby, I am sure that you provided him with many happy years, and you should hold tight to that. I am sorry to hear that you lost him, but keep the good memories at hand.

Sorry for your loss guys. I've had to put down a couple dogs myself, one to age and the other due to fiberglass insulation in his skin.

Roger, true pet lovers know pets are a huge part of a family and it's always a hard loss. My father (a GP who has seen more than his share of death) says we should all be so lucky as to die in the arms of someone who loves us dearly.
You will meet again:
RAINBOW BRIDGE:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
