I used to follow the Spurs a while back, but I can't watch the NBA anymore, too many cocky punks - doesn't seem like a team sport, more about money and fame. I'll watch college ball, but I think it is starting to go sour too.

I'm just not that into sports where getting your eye poked is a major injury.
I follow the NBA pretty closely. I think what Buzz is talking about has subsided a lot since the late 90's/early 00's when the Jailblazers and guys like that were so prevalent. With the recent rule changes about hand checking and legalizing zone defenses, the game has opened up and is pretty fun to watch.
WW, you don't follow sports where an eye poke is a major injury? I guess you're limited to baseball.
Or shorts. Sorry, its an indoor sport, its just not that big around here, except for San Antonio where everyone is a default basketball fan. Basketball players are a bunch of pussies compared to baseball guys, or really any other team sport now that I think about it.
Indeed, but strictly generalizing, the baseball season has a lot more games in a season over roughly the same amount of time. Football is a full contact sport, so is hockey and fighting is part of the game. Is basketball fun to watch in person? Absolutely. Sitting courtside at an NBA game is probably one of the best sporting experiences there is. Am I going to tune in to an out-of-market, regular season game on TV on a Sunday afternoon? No.
Back to the original topic of the thread, which is am I an NBA fan, the answer is no, and the above are some of the reasons why.
I don't watch much NBA, but I do enjoy NCAA ball. We don't have an NBA franchise near us, but we do have a pretty decent college team just down the road in Lawrence, KS. :smiley2:
I enjoy to watch a game once in a while, but I have to say I enjoy it much better in person than on television. I don't get t he oppoortunity to watch very often anyways since we don't have cable or satilite... and there are no stations to "pick up" around here. I prefer to watch football, basket ball, and hockey. Roger.
Basketball, is that a sport?
Was a Bird/Celtics fan back the in day...then this strike came along...
