I smoked a Romeo y Julieta Edicion Limitada tonight and found a couple holes in the cigar. I puled the whole batach I bought with that cigar and put them in a separate humi. Is there any thing else I should do to save my cigar stash? I don't see any damage to the othe cigars. Maybe I am being paranoid but the holes looked like something has been eating it.
If eggs in that cigar hatched then the conditions for any other eggs that might be in your other cigars are right to hatch as well. Move your stash to a cooler location.
I have only had those cigars a couple of days. I think I will fill a cooler with ice and put them in it since there is no cool location in Florida. Thinks for the help.
Based on the limited information in the OP, I'd say segregate the others, monitor, and freeze the suspect smokes, and keep them segregated after that.

Rusty, find the coolest place in your house to store your humi. If you have a basement, that would work great. If not, put it in the most center of the house or in a dark room that has no sunlight beaming in it. That will keep the humi from getting warm and allowing the eggs to hatch.
When I lived in Texas, I kept my humi in the closet under the stairs. It was the coolest place in the house.

The only way to take care that beetles never hatch is to put all your sticks in the freezer for at least 3 days, then the fridge for 3 days. Then you can put them back in your humi and never worry about temperature again. You have to freeze the shit out of them.

Thanks for the help guys. I separated the other 4 Romeo Y Julieta's and froze them. I had to leave the country on business for a week and checked the humi when I got back all looks ok. I just pulled sticks out of the freezer and put them in the refrig. I don't really care about the Romeo's the 2 boxes of CC in the humi are what I was concerned about. Again I really appreciate the help.
