prelight taste:
Quote:
abyr: a little spice, not very strong tasting.
Quote:
ashauler: nice, dark earthy tobacco flavor, hinting at what lays in store.
Quote:
badwhale: slight spice / leather on the cut prelight taste.
Quote:
buzz: woody and a fantastic black pepper spice, maybe some leather.
Quote:
cigarsarge: woody... Spice it made my lips tingle.
Quote:
cyris: sweet, cedar, different size than i am used to.
Quote:
daigz: i didn't bother with the prelight taste because the pull was a little tighter than i'm used to. It loosened up once i started it burning.
Quote:
diesel grinch: nice taste of tobacco.
Quote:
eville: very slight hint of sweet tobacco. Spongy in some places, solid in others.
Quote:
logan37: chocolaty tobacco.
Quote:
mangyrat: slightly leathery.
Quote:
mizicke5273: strong spicy tobacco smell. Sweet taste with slight hints of fruit/citrus.
Quote:
ndv21: light leathery taste. Not overpowering at all.
Quote:
prophetic_joe: didn't take a prelight taste. Was talking and forgot.
Quote:
steele: woodsy i think would best describe it.
Quote:
tdre977: sweet earthiness. Cigar is a little crooked with some shallow spots at the end.
-------------------------------------------------------------
taste (1/3):
Quote:
abyr: very very smooth, spicy, a little peppery.
Quote:
ashauler: love the initial draw of this cigar. The balance is spot on from the beginning. Deep earthy tobacco flavor counter pointed with just enough spice to be interesting. This stick is well made, firm with just the right amount of give. Draw is fantastic. I like the oily look of the somewhat veiny wrapper as well. Fine example of properly cured conn. Broadleaf.
Quote:
badwhale: wow right off the bat. Nice sweet leather flavors with some spice, but not a pepper spice, a more "soft" spice if that makes sense. Creamy aftertaste.
Quote:
buzz: very nice, wood/spice a little leather with a smooth almost creamy finish – went great with the jagermeister/irish cream combo.
Quote:
cigarsarge: sweet wood... Coffee... Spice. It hits you right in the face. The initial complexity is amazing. This is a strong cigar.
Quote:
cyris: cedar, nutty, and leather. Great smoke so far! Think this beer is a little overpowering for the cigar. Burns great, more smoke than i anticipated.
Quote:
daigz: the first third of this cigar was enjoyable. The draw was a little tighter than i would typically prefer but it wasn't too bad. The taste was of leather with slight earthy tones. The wrap had a moderate amount of oil with it. I had a thin film of oil on my lips after just the first few puffs. This third was creamy, something that i really enjoy with a good cigar.
Quote:
diesel grinch: first part was fine. The tobacco tasted nice, wasn't anything that stood out. I don't taste all those flavors that others do.
Quote:
eville: full with earth and black pepper.
Quote:
logan37: at first the smoke was pretty mild with a tiny bit of spice on the finish. It had a mild chocolaty taste with a hint of leather.
Quote:
mangyrat: earthy with a slight bitter coffee undertone.
Quote:
mizicke5273: very spicy with lots of smoke.
Quote:
ndv21: strong leathery taste. I may be confusing it with some earthy tones that remind me of the taste of dirt. But pretty good. Very light spice in the taste and nose exhale.
Quote:
prophetic_joe: good flavor, earthy and nice. Not overpowering paired well with an ale.
Quote:
steele: nice smooth draw. Woodsy taste had me wanting more right away. Nice even burn and the ash may have held longer but just couldn't resist dropping it at over an inch. A lot of nice thick smoke, can you tell i really like this one already?
Quote:
tdre977: earthiness with cocoa. Very nice, seems mild yet there’s tons of flavor.
-------------------------------------------------------------
taste (2/3):
Quote:
abyr: same, and still very smooth, maybe a little less spice now.
Quote:
ashauler: wonderful... Really hits its stride about 1/2 way imo. The flavor mingles nicely, with the earth and chocolate mixing very nicely... The spice on the finish remains.
Quote:
badwhale: super smooth and creamy. Sweet leather / tobacco flavors and that "soft" spice, like a baking spice. Very f'n nice. Medium body and full flavor.
Quote:
buzz: spice went away and gave way to wood and leather now. Still very smooth.
Quote:
cigarsarge: creamy... Chocolate... Dark spice. There is a lot going on here. I’m sure there are more flavors i’m not getting. It’s still in my face with all that is going on.
Quote:
cyris: leathery, with cocoa flavor coming out. Hints of coffee? Very mild spice. Very complex, more than i expected. I don't want this to end! Egeekbme's was a little dry (my bad!) and the leaf started getting loose.
Quote:
daigz: the leather taste stayed strong in the second third but the earthy undertones died out and were replaced by a slightly sweet or nutty taste. It was delicious at this point and the smoke was thick and creamy! The nose exhale gave a real big hit of the sweetness and gave a great burn.
Quote:
diesel grinch: second part was fine. I was enjoying this cigar but it wasn't anything that was amazing.
Quote:
eville: lots of leather at first, then calmed down to a nice smooth, sweet straw or maybe grass.
Quote:
logan37: the spice picked up a fair amount. Flavor was more earthy now. The chocolate taste became more subtle. The finish became a slightly nutty.
Quote:
mangyrat: more of the same but getting a little less earthy.
Quote:
mizicke5273: lost most of the flavor and not as spicy either. Slight woody aftertaste.
Quote:
ndv21: a little creaminess has set in making this cigar a little more mild. Pretty enjoyable even though i would like something stronger. It burns pretty fast.
Quote:
prophetic_joe: no bitterness, very smooth, nice woody, earthy notes. Tasty smoke.
Quote:
steele: picking up a slight spice flavor still has the woodsy flavor mixed in there too. Smooth draw and still a nice even burn.
Quote:
tdre977: picking up a bit here strength, getting a distinct cinnamon flavor. Its weird, the stick is burning straight, but the ash is very crooked and falls off between 1/2 and 1 inch.
-------------------------------------------------------------
taste (3/3):
Quote:
ashauler: remains as the 2/3rd... Stick softens somewhat but doesn't become "mushy". Draw remains spot on. Only knock i have on this stick is the flaky, unstable ash.... But wtf, i ain't gonna be posing for gq anytime soon so fuck the shirt.
Quote:
badwhale: more oils taking over now. Needed to give it a purge. Spice getting more intense now, and stinging the tongue a bit. Still has the sweet leathery tobacco, but being a bit overshadowed by the spice and oil that goes away towards the nub, and i'm left with some additional nutty, woodsy notes.
Quote:
buzz: spice came back just a tad at the end. Didn’t get harsh at the end, very enjoyable smoke.
Quote:
cigarsarge: all the above with a slight nutty finish. This cigar is amazing.
Quote:
cyris: little more spice now, more cocoa and coffee flavor too. Dark chocolate "dry" flavor that blends nice with the spice.
Quote:
daigz: i felt like for the last third i had to really pull on it just to get some smoke out of it. The taste remained more or less the same but seemed to be going back and forth between undertones of earthiness and sweetness. Near the last 2" of the stick the taste started to get a little bitter. I gave it a few more chances and put it out with a little less than 2" left in the cigar.
Quote:
diesel grinch: third part was fine. Tobacco was good. Didn't get hot and i nubbed it.
Quote:
eville: a little bit of bitterness with more of the grass.
Quote:
logan37: spice picked up even more. The taste was more leathery with a hint of earthiness to it. The finish had a good spice to it.
Quote:
mangyrat: the cigar finished almost the same as it started but now it has a little pepper to it.
Quote:
mizicke5273: even less flavor, and what is left is pretty much the same.
Quote:
ndv21: it picked up a little bit. I can taste a little more spice and a lot of leather. Very interesting transition.
Quote:
prophetic_joe: starts getting bitter fairly quickly which i find always happens to me with a lancero type cigar. They seem to get too hot too quick. Woody, earthy flavor still coming through however.
Quote:
steele: woodsy flavor thinning out now spice more dominant, still a nice smooth draw. Down to about the last 2 inches and got a nice pepper blast but not overpowering at all.
Quote:
tdre977: getting some bitterness, but it faded quickly, really enjoying the end here, getting lots more smoke and some good creaminess and strong flavors.
