Emergency Appendectomy

Hello fellow BOTL,
I have been off-line a few days. I had to have an emergency appendectomy
Done at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. I started to fell bad on Monday and by late Monday evening I was in excruciating pain. I did not want to go to the hospital but my wife made me. I agreed to go after the pain got worse. My wife also insisted we go to the Brigham (an hour away) due to the fact she is a P.A. there, thus avoiding any lines in the ER. After a MIR I was wheeled into the OR Tuesday morning and the removed my appendix. Got the usual Blah blah from the doctor, my surgery was complicated do to the fact I’m overweight. I’m feeling better, but very, very sore. Doctor says I need to take it easy for a few weeks. I’m glad to be back on-line.

It's a good thing you went in when you did. When mine was removed I almost waited too long. My incision got infected and I spent 5 days in hospital with a 104 degree fever being pumped full of antibiotics and Demerol.

Take it easy, get better and avoid really funny movies for a couple of weeks and try not to cough!

Take it easy and rest. Have good recovery!
