New guy to the board
Hello everyone, I am new to the board and wanted to introduce myself. I live just north of Ohio between Toledo and Detroit. I smoked cigarettes for years and decided to stop completely, I never was a heavy smoker usually a pack to a pack and a half a week. My man room along with my 57 inch flat screen got moved to the garage to make room for a kids playroom, and this was a blessing in disguise. I love watching Tiger's games and football etc. out there having a couple of beers. But I would also smoke cigarettes. I have also smoked cigars for a few years but it would be just some random stick that I bought from a shop or was given with no idea what it would be. Recently a buddy of mine and I decided to get into the hobby of smoking cigars. I purchased a 50 count humidor and joined an online cigar club to get samplers sent to me once a month. I got laid off over a year ago but took that time to go back to school, so I am a full time student at the University of Michigan in Dearborn. So spending allot of money on sticks right now is not going to happen but I have found that for around $30 a month I can get plenty of sticks to support my new found passion.
My favorite cigars so far are medium but also enjoy some Mild-Medium or Medium-Full body. I started a Dossier book of sorts and so far have almost a couple dozen listed that I have smoked. My favorites so far are:
#1 The Griffins-Robusto with maduro wrap- this thing was awesome
#2 Victor Sinclair Legacy-Corona with Maduro wrap
#3 Cao Gold- Robusto with Maduro wrap
Well there is my life story.....

Wow, nice intro.
Welcome from NW PA.
I would suggest saving up and trying the newbie sampler...you will get a great selection of cigars for minimal investment.

Welcome from Western Canada.
I'm pretty new to cigars myself and an ex cigarette chain smoker so I know where you're coming from.
I noticed the favorites you listed were all maduro's and I've been finding as more time goes by and I try more cigars I have a definite leaning towards the maduro's myself.
If you haven't tried one yet, check out a Rocky Patel Nording maduro. The previous version of the Nording wasn't a maduro but the new ones are and I find I really enjoy them a lot. They've quickly become a favorite of mine. I prefer them in Toro size.
The Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 cigars are also a really tasty maduro stick (torpedo or robusto size).
Oh and you'll definitely want to try some Padron's when you can. I've tried several different Padron's (all with maduro wrappers) and totally enjoyed them all. In fact, I have one last Padron 5000 sitting in my humi and now I'm going to have to smoke that tonight because I'll be thinking about it all day long now......lol

Nice introduction.
Welcome from the abnormally dry, and highly radioactive side, of Washington State.
Enjoy your stay. :smiley4:

Awesome introduction! Welcome to the boards!
My recommendation is to read the reviews here on the board. As was already mentioned the Newb Trade is an amazing way to get a wide variety and gain some trading credit with the members.
