Something is wrong with my humidor, help!!

i think i may have a problem with my humidor, or maybe it is my hygrometer.

this has been an ongoing problem for about 3 months now,
whenever i first fill up my humidor with cigars, i first wipe down the inside of the humidor to moisten and prep the wood. after i put the cigars in i place a shot glass of distilled water inside the humidor.... however, my hygrometer is always showing 60-65% .... i don't think i have ever had a 70% reading. do u think that my hygrometer is a piece of junk?? it is an analog one, and i was thinking of getting a digital hygrometer. should i do this???

Probably needs calibrating, if you look around there is some information on that in this forum. Also you dont have to go though all that trouble when you re fill your humidifier.

Analog hygrometers are notoriously inconsistent. 18 bones is a small price to pay for a well regarded , reliable unit.
