Leather cigar case in Humidor?

I just got a 3 cigar Montecristo case just like this one ( http://www.ihc.ca/Cigar%20Cases.htm ) and was wondering if keeping it in the humidor would be beneficial? I live in a VERY dry climate so I was thinking that if I keep the case in my humidor then it may keep my cigars moist longer when I use it for the night, eh? As opposed to leaving the leather out all the time then it may actually take moisture from my cigars when I use it? Would there be any side affects from keeping it in the Humidor? Anyone ever heard of something like this before?

Sounds like a good idea as long as the case doesn't have a toxic smell from the finish on the leather . IMHO :smiley37:

Cigars pick up everything. That is why we are always worried about marrying flavors or putting flavored cigars in with our regular cigars.

My advice. Even though the inside may have some cedar. I wouldnt put a leather cigar case in my humidor. Especially for long period of time.

Any smells that that case throws off. Is definatley going into your cigars. Especially in a small closed enviorment as a coolador or a humidor.

I respectfully disagree, I have seen leather wrapperd cigar boxes and humidors .

How about setting up an old wooden cigar box with a humidification device just for your cases. I did this when I fisrt came up with this concern and it seems to work well.

Actually I put it in a accessory drawer that still gets humidity in my cabinet. It won't be anywhere near my smokes. I am more worried about the case as it was a present:smiley17:
