Store wooden case in humdior?

Hi all,

Just getting into my smokes, got some luverly partagas atm :)

My girlfriend gave me a really nice wooden cigar case for xmas and I have just bought a small humidor.
I was wondering should I store the case in the humidor so it has some humidity when I take my smokes out?
I have seen a similar post for a leather case and it got me wondering about a wooden one.

Have also read elsewhere that just wetting your finger and wiping the inside of the case and letting it dry a little is enough to keep the moisture in the sticks for a night out.

Also my cigars are currently just in aluminium tubes when I get my humidor should i take them out of the tubes for storing?

What kind of "wooden case" are we talking here? I'm assuming something like a small suitcase. If so, I would toss a small tube of humidity beads in there and check them on occasion.

In or out of tubes is a matter of taste. What you should do is put them in a freezer bag. Tubes don't keep moisture in.

Its a small wooden case with two holes drilled to hold 2 corona sized cigars. not big enough for its own humidifier.
And I meant should i take the cigars out of the tubes when I put them in a humidor?
Currently have them in the tubes and a plastic bag, also with a small chunk of oasis to give a bit of moisture :)

It all depends on what type of wood the holder is...... if it is made of cedar, then YES, I would keep it in the humidor if you have the room. If it is some other type of wood then I would not keep it in your humidor. The wood might soak up too muck of the humididty in your humidor.

As for wetting your finger and wiping the inside, that is something I have never heard of. But, if the cigars are inside of cello then I wouldn't really worry. I wouldn't use the wooden travel holder for more than two days...... unless they are wrapped in cello, then you can probably get away with a little more.

As for keeping them in the tubes...... my rule that I follow is..... if it comes in cello, it stays in cello. If it comes in a tube, it stays in a tube.
