I live in close to Miami, so the weather here is hot and humid most of the time. We run our A/C in the house at about 76-77 degrees. My home humidor temp is usually around 75 degrees in a room that is dark, along with window shades down. It is not in direct light and I figure it's the best place in our house for it. The humidity level (if my Thompson digital guage is accurate... Doing salt calibration now), is about 72-74%. The only time it dips into the 60's is if I leave the lid open for several minutes. But when I close it, the level rises.
Also, being new, I read that you should refill your humidifiers when the humidity dips into the 60's and maintains that percentage. I filled my humidifiers (with distilled water) two weeks ago when I got the humidor. The humidifiers feel very light, but like I mentioned above, the level is usually at 72-74%, so I haven't bothered to refill.
