New Noob
Hello Gentlemen! (slightly long but its a dang intro!)
Recently new to the cigar hobby and just ordered my first 40 stick humidor w/ beads today so I figured it was time to join the community. Let me just say thank you for the wealth of knowledge on here that I have already used. I am looking for a couple of suggestions on some noob sticks for myself as well as my girlfriend. A little info about myself... I will soon be 25 and engaged. I hail from Orange County, California and have had cigars off and on, but nothing too fantastic as I didnt know what I was doing. I used to smoke cigs (camels) but quit 5 months ago so I am used to smoke. I plan on smoking 1-2 times a week, mainly at night too unwind with some single malt scotch or a glass of cab.. suggestions??? Now onto my GF... well she never really smoked and doesnt like smokers but did try a natural and maduro cigar and enjoyed the natural. I know she needs something mild, easy and tasteful but not bold. Any suggestions as this is important because if I can get her onboard to at least be impartial to cigars, you make my life 100 times easier. Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Some cigars I have tried and like are Carlos Toranos(I've smoked the exodus and 1916 both were great, anything from CT should be a nice smoke), Onyx Reserve, and had a CAO Brazilia(Didn't think great of it,but thought it was an all around good smoke).
Others that have been at this wayyyyy longerrrr will have more suggestions and point you towards better smokes. I am new myself and haven't tried many.
Has your GF tried any of the flavored cigars? My guess would be most women would perfer flavored to nonflavored cigars. Again I haven't smoked many flavored cigars either, but I had some Havana Honeys a while back that tasted nice, they were the tins in Honey flavor.
Hope you enjoy the forum!:smiley37:

Welcome to the board.
Here's a thread that'll have all the smokes you will want to try (in every price range). Some of the guys have broken them out into everyday smokes or special occasions:

As for the lady - go with something mild and sexy - I'd recommend a Griffins or a Montecristo White. Both are mild, both have good smoke - and both have been proven favorites to the gals.
Threads on the Montecristo:

I agree with the Monte White. Tried one a couple days back with my morning (read: noon) coffee. If you go the flavoured route, I have heard good things about the CAO flavoured line. Haven't smoked any myself though.
Oh, and welcome from Canada!
EDIT: That would be welcome from Virginia actually, old habits...

Thanks again for all the replies and hellos and thanks Brian for the links to some cigar online stores. I have decided to go with the CAO flavours sampler for my lady from cigarinternational and Im leaning towards the mild-medium taster fro the same here: http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...-CITP02&cat=16
I just want to say thanks and point any future noobs to TheSilentChamber's compiled review index which is VERY helpful here: http://www.cigarsmokers.com/t3330-review-index.html
