Euro Group B Preview: France-Italy
France, meanwhile, seem to be in tip-top shape and their mix of young talented players and seasoned campaigners look hungry for victories and redemption after the World Cup Final disappointment. In a game that might have become tricky, they outclassed Georgia in their own backyard and scored some excellent goals on the way to a 3-0 away win. The French may have lost Zidane, but they are bursting with talented players looking to come through on every position, as evidenced in Germany with the excellent displays of the likes of Ribery, Malouda, and Abidal, practically unknowns before the tournament (at least to the general public). So France are looking favourites for this particular match and in this qualifying group, but then again Italy are always the most dangerous when they are being written off or criticised, as they are now by the Italian press (who seem to have already forgotten the team are World Champions), and as they were before the tournament started.
